An exuberant greeting to the 2,458 members and 66 chapters in Ohio. My name is Dr. Molly Helmlinger, and it is with gratitude that I have the privilege of leading the Ohio State Organization (OSO) as State President for the 2025-2027 Biennium. I am anticipating an exhilarating term from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.
First, this biennium will involve taking an objective and realistic look at OSO as it is now in 2025. By teaming together, we will endeavor to recalibrate and make the necessary adjustments to align OSO to meet the relevant needs of our members, unify chapters across the five geographical areas, establish stronger connections between the state level and chapters, and with DKG International Society.
Second, FOCUS* is the theme I created to assist us. It is an acronym that enables us to recalibrate. By focusing on the future, remaining open to opportunities, communicating to enhance connections, uplifting each other through united goals, and embracing the unique spirit we all bring, OSO will become stronger and more relevant.
Third, we must focus on three target areas: (1) increasing membership, (2) developing leaders through a leadership succession process, and (3) establishing and enhancing relevant connections among our members, chapters, state committees, state officers, and DKG International Society. This will create what I call the OSO synergy circle. We can honor our rich heritage and, at the same time, move with deliberate speed to an even brighter future.
If we are to remain mission focused, as we must if we are to be relevant in an uncertain age, then abandoning those things that do not further the mission is a leadership imperative. ~ Frances Hesselbein
Energetically,

LEARN PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE
Parliamentary Fundamentals 101
VIA FOUR 1.5 HOUR VIRTUAL SESSIONS
The next session of We Want You! Parliamentary Fundamentals 101 will be in July for anyone that wants expert instruction on parliamentary procedure basics. It teaches the essentials using Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised In Brief (3rd Edition) to prepare participants for the NAP membership exam, though the exam itself is not a requirement to complete the course.
This four-session course runs July 17-31, 2025, from 8:00 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. ET. We know schedules can be tricky, so registrants can attend live or watch recordings of each class after they are posted on NAP University.
Registration runs through July 31 – if you miss a class you can catch up watching recordings. The registration fee is $70.00 which can be applied toward initial NAP national membership dues if the participant passes the membership exam by September 30, 2025.
The training schedule is as follows: Thursday, July 17; Monday, July 21; Thursday, July 24; and Thursday, July 31. All sessions begin at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Sharon explained how she became a member, “When a teacher that I had respected since high school asked me about joining Delta Kappa Gamma, I was truly flattered.” Bunny presented Jane Pittman pictured on the right with a pin for her 40 years of membership. Jane says she is so grateful that Delta Kappa Gamma gives her an opportunity to interact with teachers even though she is retired. | |
