A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT DEBBY CANTER
If you missed the February 8 presentation by Girls ROX trainer Nancy Willis, you missed out on a great presentation. Since the February 8 ROX presentation was not well attended, I am asking you to read or reread the ROX article that appeared in the February edition of The Voice. Please visit the Girls ROX website: Ruling Our Experiences to gain more knowledge and a better understanding of the benefits of supporting the Girls ROX program. It is my hope that we can revisit this at the executive board meeting on June 11.

If you have a good idea for a presentation on leadership, Leadership Development Coordinator Dr. Molly Helmlinger is looking for presenters for the breakout sessions at the Leadership Conference in June. In this edition, you will find the form to submit your proposal. The registration form and other pertinent information will appear in the April issue of The Voice

Registration is open for the DKG International Convention in New Orleans July 12-16. You can register online or print out the form and send it by mail. There are two events available to attend on the first two nights that are not included in the registration fee. Both sound like wonderful opportunities to experience The Big Easy.

I have three chapter visits scheduled between now and the end of May, so I have dates open for attending meetings. Please use the form on the OSO website to request a visit.

Daylight Savings time is soon, Spring is near, and I hope you find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow (just don’t forget to share with OSO).

MONEY! MONEY! MONEY!
Every chapter is faced with the same issue – looking for new ideas on how to raise money to support projects at the local, state, and international level. Fundraising, what works and what doesn’t? Does your chapter have great ideas for fundraising? Do you need help?

On Tuesday, March 8 at 7 p.m. the Communications and Marketing Committee of Ohio State Organization – DKG will host a virtual meeting where those attending will share their fundraising ideas that have been tried, those that were successful and those that didn’t turn out as they might have hoped. Please register by Thursday, March 3.

THE STORY OF HOW SISTER MARCH DEVELOPED A RELATIONSHIP WITH SISTER DELTA KAPPA GAMMA
Sister March began her journey as an elementary counselor educator who received an invitation from Sister Society to visit with one of the Chapter Meeting and met for the first time Sister Delta Kappa Gamma. Sister March was amazed with the activities and the speaker at the Chapter Meeting. The Chapter member named Sister Society introduced her to other members of the Chapter and recommended Sister March for membership to Sister Delta Kappa Gamma. And so, the orientation and the process began. Soon Sister March completed the application and was invited by the Chapter to become a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. The date was announced for her induction ceremony and she was so excited!

MEET WORLD FELLOWSHIP RECIPIENT
NI KOMANG DARMINI
Meet Ni Komang Darmini, but please call her Darmini. She is from Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. She is a World Fellowship recipient and is taking the master’s program in Reading and Literacy in Early and Middle Childhood at OSU. She studied English Education in her undergraduate years and became an English teacher. She also teaches children how to read and write.

Darmini has five brothers, two sisters, four nieces, and six nephews. Her father attended elementary school, but her mother did not have that opportunity. They have managed, however, to put six of their children through university (“I am so proud of them”). They continue to work as farmers, planting rice and taking care of livestock.

While Darmini is the only sibling to study abroad (“thank you so much to Delta Kappa Gamma Community”), five of her siblings are teachers and two are farmers.

“I love studying here so far. I got lots of new knowledge and experiences. I have many friends in theMeet teaching and learning department of OSU. I enjoyed all of my classes this semester.”

To be continued next month…

Jeanne Bennett, World Fellowship Chair
Thank You to Our SPARKS!

Immeasurable appreciation goes to our philanthropists! DKG sisters, you make it happen!—We’ve met the goal for Be the Spark…Light Our Flame!

$8,807.90 has been donated.
The FLAME burns brightly because of generous contributors!

Help us go ‘way over the goal’ and light more candles.  If you haven’t contributed there is still time to donate, since our fundraising efforts are ongoing.  Fundraising is essential in meeting our ADSOEF Purposes – “to provide funding to support professional and personal growth of educators, and to support educational excellence for students and educators.” Will ADSOEF be able to award more grants, scholarships, fellowships, and funds for projects?
