It is a great time to be a part of the community at FUMC Longview! With so many new and exciting things upon us (from launching a new ministry (F.I.T.) to the completion of several projects around the church), FUMC is on the move! Thank you for your continued engagement in our projects, ministries, discipleship, and worship opportunities. We know it has not been an easy past six months. There have been times of isolation and distance that none of us could have planned for. Together we rallied as a community to reach out in love as we tried our best to keep the connection with each other.
In this tumultuous time, this community has welcomed in two new pastors. The building has undergone a beautiful revitalization in the Welcome Center and the main hallways. The Children and Youth areas have been painted and are ready to welcome back our church's young people. The Sanctuary looks better each day as the workers continue to diligently and methodically renovate our Sacred Worship space. This has all been possible because of your continued and steadfast generosity and care for all those that are a part of FUMC Longview.
As we cast our eye on Sunday, September 13th, we move to the next phase of life for our church as a day of transition. We will reengage with each other in multiple ways. Whether it be in the Faith Center and Sanctuary at 8:30 AM for worship, Sunday School classes at 9:45 AM for conversation and discipleship, or even back in the Sanctuary at 10:45 AM, we will again be together. However, if you aren't quite ready to be back with us in person, that's ok too; we understand and respect that decision, and we will continue to live-stream our 10:45 AM worship service.
No matter where you choose to be on September 13th, we want you to engage and invite others to join you. Invite a friend to in-person worship at 8:30 AM or 10:45 AM. Start a "watch party" on Facebook for the 10:45 AM live-stream. In whatever way you can, help us begin growing the Kingdom of God here in Longview or throughout the furthest reaches of Facebook and the internet. God is moving at FUMC, and we want you to be a part as we live into our calling of being a beacon of hope for all!
