The State Convention will be held April 14-16 at the Dublin Embassy Suites. I am including a tentative schedule so you will know how to plan for this informative and fun event.

- 10:00 a.m. closing session with Lifeline of Ohio and student teacher grant recipients
We are pleased to welcome as our International representative, Immediate Past International President Becky Sadowski. She will be sharing news and updates from DKG.
Please keep in mind that we need to meet our room block so plan on staying at the host hotel. Also, I realize that the meals are costly especially since the hotel adds 30.5% for service charges and taxes as we are not tax exempt. I know that you can go to a restaurant for much less, but you will be missing out on fellowship and helping OSO meet the food and beverage minimum that we must pay regardless of whether or not enough members order meals.
Please plan to join us for the entire weekend especially since we haven’t held a state convention in person since 2019. I really want to see all of you there!
Debby

Ohio Chapter Promotes Literacy
Alpha Theta - Take...Read...Share
| |
The Alpha Theta Chapter of DKG created a service project that we call Take...Read...Share. Our goal is to put more books into the hands of children and for them to "Take, Read, and Share" with others! Members were asked to consider donating two or three new or gently used elementary level books at each meeting. Labels are printed telling students that they may keep this book, share it with others, or return it to the Take, Read, Share box. Our chapter decided to put decorated book boxes in the Wooster, Orrville, Doylestown, and Apple Creek laundromats in Wayne County so that children could read while their parents are busy doing laundry. Thirty books were placed in each box which is checked and maintained regularly by our members. This literacy project appears to be very successful by the way books are disappearing from the boxes. | |
