Renew your commitment when you first decided to become a member of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, along with reviewing the meaning of the seven purposes for Women Educators.

Recapture women educators to become members or reinstate their membership in the Delta Kappa Gamma Society OSO Chapters; along with encouraging OSO Chapter programming that will promote personal and professional growth

opportunities for women educators.

Respond to the worldwide needs of women educators through the Key Initiatives that are promoted from DKG International including Schools for Africa, DKG/UN, and Supporting Early Career Educators.

We will reveal at our July Leadership Chairs and Related Personnel Training our new OSO initiative that will be promoted and implemented during this 2023-2025 biennium on (Saturday July 29, 2023, at 10:30 AM which will be at the Northside Branch of Columbus Metropolitan Library, 1423 N. High Street, Columbus, OH, 43201 Meetings Rooms 2 and 3).

Our state committees are 98% complete! If you would still like to serve in any way, we would still welcome you to volunteer to join a committee to Respond to the needs of service in the Delta Kappa Gamma Society Ohio State Organization by contacting me at president@dkgohio.org.

We would like to say a very special Thank You to all the many individuals who responded to the call, when asked to serve as a chair or on a committee, with a “YES!”  I thank each of you for Responding to the Call to serve. Your committee chairs will meet individually with their committees by Zoom following our July 29th meeting to discuss Planning and Leadership strategies before our Fall Executive Board Meeting on September 30th! Your New OSO Leadership Team has been getting ready for the next two years by…

• Establishing Official State Officers and Committee Chair/s with email information.
• Preparing a New Exciting Membership Challenge that will be presented/launched during the September 30th Executive Board Meeting.
• Reveal our new biennium Educational Excellence Initiative to Respond to and make a difference to the needs of individuals within our Ohio communities at our July 29th meeting.
• Creating a chapter program handbook to provide chapters with information to complete their own chapter program books.
• Encouraging the continued merging of the Membership and Expansion Committees to plan growth and expansion opportunities along with strategies to develop resources to nurture, strengthen, and expand our OSO chapters
• Organizing a Leadership Training meeting for the State Committee Chairs and Related Personnel on July 29th.

Our new biennium garden of roses are just beginning to be planted. It will take each of us working together to allow them to take root, be fertilized with our plans and nurtured/watered, and sometimes pruned in order to prosper and grow. Together our  OSO Delta Kappa Gamma Society Garden will continue to flourish and grow.

On behalf of your new 2023-2025 Leadership Team, we consider it an honor and a privilege serving you as officers in the Ohio State Organization for the next two years. We welcome your encouragement, your excitement, your words of wisdom, your talents, and your valuable teamwork as we work together in our OSO Delta Kappa Gamma Society neighborhood.

Alpha Lambda Chapter celebrated Founder's Day with “Hats Off to Delta Kappa Gamma”. Chapter News from Around Ohio

Gamma Phi Chapter members volunteered during setup days for the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati.

Gamma Theta Chapter awarded Brynna Wright the Gamma Theta Chapter Grant-in-Aid Memorial Scholarship of $750. Beta Psi Chapter members toured Meadowview Growers and had a workshop on what to plant in your spring garden. The ladies are holding the lovely lilies they were given to take home! The 2023 Biennial Seminar was held on June 8 through June 10 in the beautiful rolling hills of Gallia and Jackson Counites in Southern Ohio.

OSO members gathered at the Quality Inn in Gallipolis on Thursday evening for opening comments and dinner served by the hotel staff. Jeanne Jindra, the Director of the Welsh Studies Center at the University of Rio Grande, spoke about the history of the Welsh settlers in Gallia and Jackson Counties. Afterwards, members enjoyed fellowship and card games.
