Easter Sunday
Welcome the good news of Christ’s ultimate triumph over death! Let’s celebrate God’s miracle of life and Jesus’ great gift of love.

Join us for the prophetic proclamation from the heart of the Christian witness that “Christ is Risen” on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

This joyful time of worship will also include the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper so you are invited to prepare elements of your own at home.

These Days

Seminary Cinema
Since we can't gather to watch movies at the Seminary Cinema, here's a selection of movies available on Netflix this month  curated by Matt Benzing :
Kon Tiki is an exciting recreation of Thor Heyerdahl' s historic voyage. Most of the movie takes place on the tiny balsa wood ship, and it makes you feel as you are there with him and his colleagues.
If you didn't have a chance to see The Florida Project with us at our Seminary Cinema screening, you can watch it now from your home. A stunning look at the lives of people on the margins. Tough, but not without moments of grace.
If the confines of Covid-19 sequestering are making you stressful, there is nothing better than spending a little time with animated sheep. Farmageddon , a feature length episode of the Aardman "Shaun the Sheep" series, features our wooly friend having a close encounter of the third kind.
Speaking of electric sheep, Blade Runner , Ridley Scott's groundbreaking adaptation of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" is on Netflix this month. I've seen the various edits of this film dozens of times, and every time I see something new. A milestone of science fiction cinema.
A Note from the Newsletter Editor
Hi Everyone,
I am planning a new column for the May newsletter and I need your help. Please share stories with me, in a few sentences, of the good things you have learned, kindnesses that came your way, how you are coping, or anything else from these extraordinary COVID-19 times. Also, let me know if you want to be anonymous.

Let’s spread these good things!

Thank you!

P.S. As always, the newsletter deadline is the 20th of the month.
Your Stewardship Matters

During these days of social distancing, our connections to one another and our mission in the community matter more than ever before. Your gifts matter and make an impact as we adapt together to COVID-19 in our neighborhood.

In lieu of a contribution to the physical offering plate, we would encourage you to mail your pledge/tithe to the church office or give through one of these digital avenues. To give online  both conveniently and securely, you may access our online giving opportunity from your computer at https://onrealm.org/oxfordpresbychurch/Give .

To give via text message , text opc1825 and your designated amount to 73256. For example, text "opc1825 25" to 73256 for an offering of $25 and follow the prompt. Questions? Contact office -  office@oxfordpresbychurch.org
Living Into Hope

The proclamation of Easter Day is that all is well.
And as a Christian, I say this not with the easy optimism
of one who has never known a time when all was not well
but as one who has faced the Cross in all its obscenity as well as in all its glory,
who has known one way or another what it is like to live separated from God.
In the end, his will, not ours, is done.
Love is the victor.
Death is not the end. The end is life.
His life and our lives, through him, in him.
Existence has greater depths of beauty, mystery, and benediction
than the wildest visionary ever dared to dream.
Christ our Lord is risen.
