This fall the trustees will be upgrading the fence and mulch in the playground area to meet safety standards as required by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services (ODJFS). The existing mulch will be removed and replaced with certified playground mulch. The shrubs and existing chain link fence will be removed and replaced by the approved decorative fence. A large portion of this project is being funded by a donation from John and Marilyn Curry as noted elsewhere in this newsletter. This project will make the maintenance of the playground much easier for the trustees and provide a safe environment for our children to play.
Creating a Healthy Oxford Community

You may have been following the concern around rising plastic pollution in the news – including research that suggests there may be more plastic than fish in the world’s oceans by the year 2050.

Here in Oxford, our loosely-organized #Take3Oxford group encourages action to reduce plastic pollution and litter in our community and waterways through an extremely simple practice –  picking up and properly disposing of three pieces of litter a day.
You can encourage others to participate by posting a picture of your 3 pieces to the Take3Oxford  Facebook group . Post using this link: or by including the hashtag #take3oxford in your Instagram post or following the group @Take3Oxford. Our group is also a great place for anyone interested in reducing the amount of waste they produce overall, as we collaboratively seek  upstream  solutions to plastic pollution.
Online Giving
Our current online givers received a letter in the mail this week as well as a follow up phone call introducing our new online giving website - REALM. REALM opens our congregation to many new avenues of supporting our church’s mission in the digital age. Stay tuned to learn about these new avenues to support the ministry of Oxford Presbyterian Church.

Your Stewardship Matters
God has given us two hands – one to receive with and the other to give with.
We are not cisterns made for hoarding; we are channels made for sharing.
