September Stewardship Focus – Christian Education
Ministry and mission at Oxford Presbyterian Church takes on so many forms as we answer Christ's call in our community, nation and world. The work of Christian Education is our September Stewardship Focus as we highlight the many ways our congregation shares the Good News of Jesus Christ and proclaims the abundant life God offers to all.

OPC has a group of regular preschoolers including Eloise, Claire, Lola, and Oran. The children climb onto their chairs and listen to the day's bible story, enthusiastically interjecting with questions, sometimes about the lesson, sometimes about the cool rock they saw in their yard that morning.

We also have a sweet group of Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders. They recently made a trip downstairs to see the rose window and were inspired by shapes and colors. In this photo Anthony and Emilia are making stained glass window “Live in the Light” cards for church members on the prayer list. The K-1-2 class makes card each month for our friends who are ill, shut-in, or in nursing homes.

Seeking Those with Leadership Gifts
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord.
1 Corinthians 12:4
Do you know someone with gifts for leadership and ministry? Consider recommending those members of Oxford Presbyterian Church whom you feel have demonstrated gifts for leadership and a commitment to the life and ministry of this congregation.
Recommendations for the offices of Ruling Elder, Deacon, and Trustee may be made online ( Nomination of Church Officers ). Printed brochures will be in our Sunday bulletin and available throughout the church.
The election of church officers is at the heart of what it means to be Presbyterian. The Nominating Committee greatly appreciates your insight in helping them gather names this week as they prayerfully engage this exciting time of discernment.
Oxford Community Picnic
Pastor Marc and Pat Gifford were thrilled to represent OPC at the Oxford Community Picnic on Thursday. The picnic is an Oxford tradition and a great opportunity for folks in the community to connect with local organizations. Folks could stop by the OPC table
and pick up information on the Welcome Back Picnic, Campus and Youth Ministry, CCNS, Seminary Cinema, and our fall Blessing of the Pets. And speaking of pets, Pat and Marc were even joined by a very special "pastoral assistant"...Pastor Marc's dog, Bella!
