We are updating our picture directory!  Lifetouch photographers will be at the Seminary, Saturday, February 16th from 11:30 to 5:00 . You can register for your appointment online now by going to https://booknow-lifetouch.appointment-plus.com/ykh4g8yx/ . MEF members will also be available to register you after worship on February 3, and 10. Creating a Healthy Oxford Community
Have you been to a conference lately and now have a drawer full of fun little swag items?  Did you get four hundred and thirty seven free calendars in the mail?  Do you have more key chains than you have keys?  If you answered YES to even one of these questions, WE NEED YOUR HELP.  The local nursing home on Fairfield Road, Premier Estates of Oxford is in need of prizes for their Bingo games.   Prizes can be anything from a calendar to a stress ball, small picture or fuzzy stuffed animal, comb or brush or lotion, etc. No food or candy since many residents are on special diets.   Mission and Outreach will have a donation box outside Bridgite’s office until February 10 . Bingo games are frequent, so there is a continuing need and staff at the facility are truly appreciative of our donations, offering free hugs in return for the prizes.  Ask Nancy Moeckel,  moeckenj@miamioh.edu or 523-6003 if you have questions.
The Secret of Kells – Coming to Seminary Cinema
The next presentation in our “Spirit of Scotland” film series is the uncommon gem, The Secret of Kells

Through the eyes of a 12-year-old Irish lad named Brendan, this movie invites us to enter into the story of the Iona monks who started the masterpiece we now know as the “Book of Kells.” These illuminated gospels were taken from Iona to Ireland for safekeeping from the devastation of Viking raids. In Ireland, we meet Brendan and are beckoned into this film that combines wondrous storytelling and stunning animation.

Friend of our congregation and movie reviewer, Ed McNulty writes, if ever there is proof that the art of hand-drawn animation can produce a work as effective as the newer computer-generated, 3-D enhanced extravaganzas, this gorgeous film is it.

Join us Sunday, February 10 in the Sanctuary of the Seminary Church for this film for ALL ages. This handicap accessible facility is located at the corner of Church and Poplar at 104 E. Church St. Pre-film discussion begins at 3:30 p.m. Film starts at 4 p.m.

Church Services at The Knolls
If you are unable to attend some of our church services on Sunday mornings, we have another option for you. Becky Quay shows recent church services on DVD at 10:00 a.m. on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. In February, the dates are the 12th and 26th.

Services are held in the Activity Room of the Skilled Nursing area. All are invited to join us.
The Honored Woman Award 2019
Each year, Oxford Presbyterian Women present the Honored Woman Award to one or two women who have faithfully, willingly, and joyfully given their time and talents to the work of the church. We celebrate their many contributions to the mission, growth, and welfare of OPC and its vibrant congregation. Please consider thoughtfully any woman in our congregation whom you admire for their organizational skills, ability to lead or teach, willingness to participate regardless of task, and dedication to assisting those in need. Then write a letter of nomination detailing her work and send it to Jo Reinhart at jreinhart16@woh.rr.com , or mail it to 175 Stone Creek Drive, Oxford OH 45056. If you have questions, please contact Jo by email or call 513-523-4742.

A new letter of nomination is needed each year, even if a woman has been nominated previously. We owe a debt of gratitude for the continued service of our past Honored Women but can give the award only once to an individual.
The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2019.
