We look forward to sharing it all.

Blessings for ASP

Oxford Presbyterian Church will be sending a group to Pineville, Kentucky to partner with Appalachia Service Project on a mission experience (along with the youth group of Willow Grove United Methodist Church from Willow Grove, Pennsylvania) as part of our congregation’s ongoing mission commitment to eradicate systemic poverty.

Our youth participants this year are Eric and Noel. Greg Hughes will be serving as an adult chaperone (along with Pastor Marc). The group will be departing for their mission site at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pineville, Kentucky this Sunday, July 16 directly following worship. Please keep our Presbyterian youth in your prayers this month!

Adult Christian Education (ACE) - Ripped from the Headlines

For July and August, we are bringing back our very popular series called “Ripped From the Headlines”. If you are not familiar with the concept, it is a way for folks to discuss hot topics in the news in a respectful and thoughtful way. All viewpoints are welcome. Each session will be led by a facilitator and will have short readings that can be done ahead of time.

All are welcome to join us this Sunday, July 16 for a discussion on artificial intelligence.

If you are interested, please join us in the Molyneaux Lounge at 11:30 a.m. We will conclude by 1:00 p.m. We hope to see you!

Molyneaux Renovations

A task force has been working for the last 18 months to develop the plans to renovate the Molyneaux Lounge into a warm and welcoming meeting space that will incorporate technology equipment to allow us to increase communication with our congregation both those present at OPC and those who join us virtually. Construction will start next Monday, July 17th.

We welcome you to join us in preparing the lounge for construction by moving items out of the Molyneaux this Sunday following ACE. Any and all help is appreciated.

While there are bound to be other impacts from the construction of our buildings' most utilized space, they are temporary and we look forward to a beautiful new space resulting from several generous donations and benefitting OPC for upcoming generations. If you have specific questions or concerns, please reach out to Nick Fears.

An Abundant Yield

The good news is that fresh vegetables abound. The challenging news is that there are not enough volunteers to glean them. We’ve received word from our gleaning partners at the Society of St. Andrew that they are having a difficult time fielding enough volunteers to glean every Wednesday at the Miami Institute for Food Farm from 9 a.m. – noon. The food gleaned is among the most nutritious available and is distributed to individuals throughout the community who rarely have access to such fresh food. Sign up here to volunteer your time.

Indeed, the earth has yielded its increase! (Psalm 67)

Living into Hope

A life of hospitality begins in worship,

With a recognition of God’s grace and generosity.

Hospitality is not first a duty and responsibility;

It is first a response of love and gratitude

For God’s love and welcome to us.
