OPC Relay for Life
Our church will be fielding a Relay for Life team this summer for the event that takes place on Saturday, June 22, 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm in uptown Oxford. Relay for Life is an annual event through the American Cancer Society where people help raise money for research and education to help fight Cancer. We are always looking for new people who would like to join our team and join us in raising money to fight Cancer.

As a team, we work together to raise money by asking our friends, co-workers, and family to financially sponsor us as members of the team. We also spend time together in fellowship during the Relay event as well as during a yard sale that we will have on Saturday, June 29. Our church as fielded a team since the start of the Relay in Oxford, and we have perennially been one of the highest fund raising teams in Oxford. In 2017 and 2018, we raised over $15,000 and we were the number one team in all of Oxford. Our church team usually has about 12 members and we are always looking for more people to join us. If you are interested in joining us in this fun, worthy cause, please contact Janet Holmes, 513-255-7229.

There are also luminaries available to purchase in the name of a loved one who has passed due to cancer or in honor of ones who have survived or are fighting cancer.  Luminaries can be purchased for $10 in the Memorial courtyard after service.

We ask that the youth's family cover the initial deposit of $75 and the church will pay the remaining balance to Kirkmont. Check out the Kirkmont Center website for more information.

Any questions? Please contact Jenn Walter, at 513-593-4883.
Still Seeking Funds for Choir Intern Program
The choir intern program introduced last fall proved to be exceptionally successful. The four Miami student interns embraced within our member choir not only enhanced the overall quality of the worship experience, but also strengthened our student mission goals and provided an enriching interaction for the involved students and members.

Current efforts to fund this program for the coming year have been progressing and giving now stands at $6,000 which is half of the total amount needed. Considering that the program is set to begin again as students return in September, we are hopeful that additional gifts will be forthcoming to maintain the established momentum. Please prayerfully consider this avenue for giving. For more information please contact Special Gifts Coordinator, Bill King, at 513-523-2546 or kingwl@miamioh.edu

Journals and Reflection Questions
Summer is a great time to rest and reflect on "What's next." "What's next for me?" "What's next for our congregation?" Journals from the Myrtle Collaboration team are freely available in the lounge this Sunday for you to jot down your reflections on the questions we've been asking. Take these journals to your porch or backyard, to the cabin or the beach.

Our reflection questions for June are:
  • How do I experience the Spirit of God who blows through closed doors and sets our heads on fire?
  • How is the Spirit of God seeking to transform us, both as individual and as a people?

Click here for a list of all the reflection questions.

Your Stewardship Matters
Filled with the Spirit of Pentecost, the grateful life is a generous life.
Actions born out of gratefulness are not compulsive, rather free;
not somber, rather joyful;
not fanatical rather liberating.
When gratitude is the source of our actions,
our giving becomes receiving and
those to whom we minister become our ministers.
