Cinema Soul
In a new post on the Cinema Soul blog, Matt Benzing steps out of the theater to take a look at the new Bruce Springsteen album. No, it's not a movie, but according to Matt "Listening to a Springsteen album from beginning to end is like watching a movie full of separate stories". Read it here .
Russian Friendship Quilt
A priceless work of hands and hearts now hangs in the Molyneaux Lounge. This Friendship Star Quilt will be presented to our sister church in Zlatoust, Russia during our upcoming 2019 Mission in Russia journey. Designed, pieced and quilted by Rosemary Fisher, Christine Rose and many ladies of Oxford Presbyterian Church you'll want to lean into study the images from our two congregations. Then you'll likely take a few steps back to appreciate the whole quilt framed by phrases in Russian that translate as "Love each other, Thank you for your friendship, Worship the Lord with gladness and Sing Joyful Songs."

It will remain in Oxford for a very limited time. Take a moment on Sunday to appreciate this work of art.
VBS - Thank You!
Thank you for helping make VBS GOD is LOVE a wonderful success last weekend. I do believe God was smiling down on Oxford seeing so many of his children reading His word, learning His story, enjoying his creation, laughing, running, singing, praying, and worshiping Him.

For Warm Welcomes, we collected 27 stuffed animals, 32 card games, 28 3-in-1 shampoos, 46 toothbrushes, and 54 toothpastes. What a joy to serve so many fellow neighbors!
Myrtle Collaboration Update
This week we begin a series of updates on the Myrtle Collaboration. We start by answering a couple of the great questions we've received.

What is the Myrtle Collaboration?
The Myrtle Collaboration is an initiative designed to promote innovation and transformation in churches. Louisville Seminary sponsors this program to “Reclaim the Vocation of Every Child of God”. Oxford Presbyterian Church is one of eight churches across the country invited to participate in this innovative, transformational process.

So what is the process?
That’s the thing. No set program exists nor does any formally specified set of outcomes. OPC gets to define our own process, calling, and success. It is truly a gift and grace.
That being said, at our January workshop the coordinators of the Myrtle Collaboration asked each of the congregations to enter into a time of deep and intentional listening to God’s call in each of our lives, God’s call in our congregational life and God’s call through our neighbors.
We launched the first phase - listening to God’s call in each of our lives - in spring 2019 through worship experiences, reflection questions and journals. "Tune in" next week for  What's next?
Your Stewardship Matters
Gratitude makes everyday sacred. Expressing our gratitude is a gift to the giver.
Gratitude for small things makes every day a gift.
