Easter Musical Offering

A gift from the music ministry of Oxford Presbyterian Church during this Season of Easter. Three selections on the harp by Kathryn Mawer.
Save Your Loose Change!
This week for Community Change Sunday, we're asking you start saving that loose change in a special place in your home for safekeeping until we can gather together again for worship in person. However, be sure to have your loose change with you during the worship livestream this Sunday morning for a special Time with Young Disciples!

All donations to "Community Change" further our congregation's call in the community to Eradicate Systemic Poverty.

Handicapped Accessible Restroom Update
The handicapped accessible restroom project is proceeding nicely! The tile has been installed and is being grouted today. Once the tile work is complete, the plumbers and electricians can return to install the final finishes. One of the final steps will be adding new doors, which haven't yet arrived from the factory, but we are hoping to see them in the next couple of weeks.
2020 Birthday Offering of Presbyterian Women
The Birthday Offering is one of Presbyterian Women’s offerings received in the spring each year. It gives women a tangible way to celebrate the blessings in their lives. The Birthday Offering funds up to five projects each year, in amounts of $75,000 to $150,000 each.

Since 1922, the Presbyterian Women’s Birthday Offering has helped fund mission projects that improve lives. In 2015 the Birthday offering provided a $100,000 grant to the Seventh Presbyterian Church, Barranquilla, Colombia, in partnership with Oxford Presbyterian Church, to improve the facilities and services of the Bethesda Christian Community Center, Barranquilla. This year’s Birthday Offering will support a Center for Social Assistance to the Disabled, Family, & Children Assisted Living Facility, in Davydova, Russia, and GAP Ministries in Augusta, GA. We encourage you to mail your Birthday Offering to the church office, 101 N. Main St., Oxford. Make checks payable to Oxford Presbyterian Women. Your generosity is appreciated.
Memorial Church Beautification Project

June Newsletter
If the COVID-19 virus miraculously went away and if the pandemic lock-down ended on Sunday night like a light switch going off, what would you do on Monday?

Please share your great ideas for the June newsletter.

Thank you.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Newsletter Editor

P.S. As always, the newsletter deadline is the 20th of the month.
Honored Women Award
On Mother’s Day it was announced that Pam Deahl and Lynn Jacobs were named Honored Women for 2020. The Honored Women Committee of Susan King, Becky Quay and Lynn Cronk would like to thank everyone who submitted nominations. At a later date, when we are again worshiping together, they will receive a pin and a certificate designating Honorary Life Membership in Presbyterian Women for their service to our church.
The pin has caring supportive hands representing women who seek to build an inclusive community of Presbyterian Women. The leaf represents growth of our personal and corporate response to Jesus Christ as we nurture our faith. The dove indicates our work for peace in our own lives and throughout the world, shown in the globe. At the center of the design is the cross by which our sins are forgiven and we are freed to live in Christ who is at the center of our lives. The overall design is of a butterfly , a symbol of newness in Christ.

Congratulations to Lynn Jacobs and Pam Deahl. In the June Newsletter you will be able to learn more about these two very deserving recipients.

Your Stewardship Matters

Although we cannot currently gather together for worship, mission, or Christian education – our congregation adapted each of these areas, and more, to the current realities in this pandemic.

With the evolution of our ministry, your stewardship remains as vital to ever as we increase mission support of our community partners, gather for worship via livestream, offer creative and original Christian education content, and faithfully care for our church staff. Your gifts matter and make an impact as we respond together to the impact of COVID-19.

In lieu of a contribution to the physical offering plate, we would encourage you to mail your pledge/tithe to the church office or give through one of these digital avenues. To give online both conveniently and securely, you may access our online giving opportunity from your computer at .

To give via QR code, scan the code in the image below with your phone and follow the brief prompts. View a video tutorial  here  on giving through QR code.

To give via text message, text opc1825 and your designated amount to 73256. For example, text "opc1825 25" to 73256 for an offering of $25 and follow the prompt. View a video tutorial  here  on giving via text message.

Living Into Hope

People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in,
their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
