Correction from May Newsletter
In the May newsletter it was erroneously reported that Kroger had stopped the Rewards Program. Confusion came when, temporarily, the rewards amount was NOT posted on receipts. In fact, Kroger has NOT stopped the Rewards Program and the Deacons ARE receiving their rewards. We apologize for this error in reporting. 2020 Birthday Offering of Presbyterian Women
The Birthday Offering is one of Presbyterian Women’s offerings received in the spring each year. It gives women a tangible way to celebrate the blessings in their lives. The Birthday Offering funds up to five projects each year, in amounts of $75,000 to $150,000 each.

Since 1922, the Presbyterian Women’s Birthday Offering has helped fund mission projects that improve lives. In 2015 the Birthday offering provided a $100,000 grant to the Seventh Presbyterian Church, Barranquilla, Colombia, in partnership with Oxford Presbyterian Church, to improve the facilities and services of the Bethesda Christian Community Center, Barranquilla. This year’s Birthday Offering will support a Center for Social Assistance to the Disabled, Family, & Children Assisted Living Facility, in Davydova, Russia, and GAP Ministries in Augusta, GA. We encourage you to mail your Birthday Offering to the church office, 101 N. Main St., Oxford. Make checks payable to Oxford Presbyterian Women. Your generosity is appreciated.
Seminary Cinema
Many of the series popping up on streaming services rival the best movies in terms of acting, direction, and production values. Three that are currently on Netflix:

Unorthodox
  • Powerful adaptation of Deborah Feldman's memoir about growing up in and struggling to leave the insular Orthodox Jewish community in Brooklyn.

Anne With an E
  • An excellent new adaptation of "Anne of Green Gables", the story of an orphan girl growing up on Prince Edward Island at the turn of the century (the previous turn of the century, that is)

The English Game
  • Written and produced by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes, this six part dramatizes the early days of football (soccer to us silly Americans).

Your Stewardship Matters

Although we cannot currently gather together for worship, mission, or Christian education – our congregation adapted each of these areas, and more, to the current realities in this pandemic.

With the evolution of our ministry, your stewardship remains as vital to ever as we increase mission support of our community partners, gather for worship via livestream, offer creative and original Christian education content, and faithfully care for our church staff. Your gifts matter and make an impact as we respond together to the impact of COVID-19.

In lieu of a contribution to the physical offering plate, we would encourage you to mail your pledge/tithe to the church office or give through one of these digital avenues. To give online both conveniently and securely, you may access our online giving opportunity from your computer at  https://onrealm.org/oxfordpresbychurch/Give .

To give via QR code, scan the code in the image below with your phone and follow the brief prompts.

To give via text message, text opc1825 and your designated amount to 73256. For example, text "opc1825 25" to 73256 for an offering of $25 and follow the prompt.

Living Into Hope

We have all known the long loneliness
and we have learned that the only solution is love
