She is active in the Presbytery of the Miami Valley where she is the committee chair for the Network, Support, and Grants committee.

She is very much looking forward to share in worship with the OPC family this Sunday.
Community Change Offering

Sunday, November 25, we will receive the Community Change Offering for the Community Meals.

Let's make some noise!
Safe Haven Farms
Sunday, November 25. At 1:30 p.m. we will gather in the alley between our church and the hospital to carpool to Safe Haven Farms. Yes, it's that time already to decorate the Hatton Center for the holidays! The "farmers" at Safe Haven are autistic young adults who delight in the Christmas decorations that we put up for them. All the decorations are already there just waiting for us to use and turn their center into a magical place. Won't you please join us? If you'd rather not carpool, drive directly to Safe Haven Farms at 5970 No Mans Road, Middletown, OH 45042. Let Karen Shearer know if you can help so we don't leave anyone behind!
Mitten Tree
Beginning November 25 and lasting through December 16 the Annual Mitten Tree will be in our sanctuary. Help provide a Christmas gift to a needy child in Oxford. Please take a mitten from the tree, put your donation ($40-$50) into the envelope inside the mitten, and bring both to the Molyneaux where you deposit your mitten and envelope into a basket. Then write your name beside the child's name on the list by the basket. You are done! Children's names are provided by the Oxford Resource Center. Parents shop at Walmart under the supervision of the Resource Center so that your money truly goes for a child's gift. Thanks for making the holidays happy for those less fortunate children in our community. Questions? Contact Karen Shearer.

Special Music Fund and Poinsettias
The Worship and Music Committee of Session hopes to make each of the worship services as meaningful as possible. Congregational participation is a crucial ingredient in that effort. One example of participation is seen in the enthusiastic response to the opportunities to honor or memorialize others with the purchase of flowers to enhance the beauty of the sanctuary throughout the year, particularly at Christmas and Easter. It has been suggested that opportunity be given to honor or memorialize others with a gift to the Special Music Fund in lieu of, or in addition to the purchase of flowers. The Special Music Fund is for the express purpose of providing a small honorarium for guest soloists or instrumentalists or musical events not included in the regular worship and music budget. Contributions to this special fund will be welcome at any time, but members and friends of the church are invited to make contributions during the Christmas and Easter seasons. One may designate a person or persons to be memorialized or honored. Such gifts will be noted in the church bulletin.

The cost of the poinsettias this year will be $16.50. P lease fill out the form in Sunday's bulletin and place in the offering plate or the Administrative Assistant mailbox.

The last day to order is Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

BackPack Food Program
Many children who receive free and reduced-price school meals are left without the nutrition they need on the weekends and holiday breaks.
The BackPack Program, a partnership between St. Mary’s and the Shared Harvest Food Bank, aims to reduce this nutrition gap by discreetly supplying 175 students from Kramer, Bogan and Marshall schools with a bag of food each Friday throughout the school year.

The cost to sponsor one student for a year is $50, though any amount is welcome. Checks can be made to Oxford Presbyterian Church with “BackPack Food” in the memo line.

This is a Mission and Outreach Committee collaboration with St. Mary’s as we address local food insecurity. Any questions, please contact St. Mary’s at 523-2153.

Real. Relevant. Reformed: A Stewardship Update
Pledges and tithes continue to be joyfully received. The Good News of Oxford Presbyterian Church is that Christ is working in us and through us to live our faith ‘out loud’ in Oxford and beyond. In challenging times, we are thriving! The fulfillment of our 2019 Stewardship goals enables OPC to continue to do so.

If you have not yet pledged, please do so today. Pledge cards may be found throughout the Memorial Church.

If you have but continue to think about the role OPC plays in the quality of your life and faith, consider an increase in your 2019 pledge.

With all of the abundant life we experience at OPC, may we impact the world as a body of Christ that is Real, Relevant and Reformed!
Service of Comfort
On Thursday, December 6, Oxford Presbyterian Church and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church warmly invite you to a Service of Comfort. This reflective and peaceful service may be particularly helpful for those grieving loss during the Seasons of Advent and Christmas. This year Holy Trinity hosts the Service of Comfort beginning at 3 p.m. Invite your friends and neighbors to this gracious service followed by refreshments and fellowship.

Rehearsals will be held during Sunday school (10:20-11:00 A.M.) on November 25th, December 2nd and December 9th. Dress rehearsal will be held on Saturday, December 15th from 1:00-3:00 P.M.
Kiwanis Food Drive & the Seminary Church
On Sunday, November 4th the Seminary Church facility served as the mission center for the annual Kiwanis Food Drive. Over 377 volunteers canvassed the community as neighbors throughout Oxford generously responded by donating over 7,238 pounds of food.

At the Seminary Church, volunteers of all ages sorted these food items before they were taken to the Oxford Community Choice Pantry.

During this holiday season, thanks be to God that families across the community gather around tables abundant with food.
Bob Abrams: Special Guest
The Stated Clerk of the PC(USA), J. Herbert Nelson, hosts conversations through the church that are posted on Facebook. On Monday, November 19, the Rev. Dr. Nelson sat down with Bob Abrams for a special Thanksgiving Edition of “Coffee with the Clerk”.

The Rev. Bob Abrams served the Seminary Presbyterian Church from 1954-1959 before taking a call as a mission co-worker to India. Bob was welcomed back to Oxford as a special guest at the Seminary Re-Dedication on October 28, 2018. Click here to enjoy this special Thanksgiving Edition of “Coffee with the Clerk” featuring Bob Abrams: https://www.facebook.com/spiritofga/
