Seeking Feedback from Family Members of Children Receiving Services from any System
The NYS Office of Mental Health, along with other state partners, families, youth, and advocacy organizations, is developing a family toolkit to provide easy to understand information on where to go when children are experiencing challenges and hints on how to decide what type of services might be most needed and appropriate to meet families’ needs. A particular focus will be for those children and youth that need services to address both mental health and developmental disabilities needs.

2022 FTNYS End of Session Update
|
On a brighter note, the long-standing scope of practice issue for certain mental health licensed practitioners has finally been resolved, allowing more clinicians to diagnose and removing one more barrier to access for families and young people. It is our sincere hope that the resolution of this issue will free up bandwidth to discuss other pressing concerns related to behavioral health access.
And as always, here is a comprehensive report from Carreau-Consulting that details the outcomes of these priorities and many more.

Celebrate Juneteenth with Families Together & Honest Weight!
|
Juneteenth is American History and the testament to the road that must be taken to create a better world.
Texas, June 19, 1865, 2 1/2 years after Slavery ended and 2 months after the confederacy surrendered. Union soldiers took control and delivered Lincolns executive order.
We commemorate this day of emancipation, Freedom and Jubilee.
While remembering those who advocated for one of the insidious systems in American History. Advocacy is a journey to transform and uplift the voices of those who struggle. Celebrate with us by clicking the links below. Attend Juneteenth events, educate your family and friends about this pivotal moment in history.
