Why record volunteer hours?
Many of you have already been diligent in submitting your volunteer hours for the summer - thank you! Here are some ways your recorded volunteer hours benefit Lakeside:
-
They help Lakeside receive grants. Some grants that Lakeside applies for ask for how many volunteers have assisted the institution and how much time volunteers have given. In other words, your volunteering helps Lakeside apply and receive grants to make the quality of your Lakeside experience even better.
-
They help Lakeside better understand and appreciate your labor. Lakeside is experiencing significant financial losses due to traveling and safety concerns surrounding COVID-19. In response to these losses, Lakeside has cut down expenses through decreased staff. Because of this, your time and energy is VALUABLE. At the end of this Chautauqua season, Lakeside hopes to include a cumulative total of the hours you have put in to ensuring that this season is a success. We want to reflect on and appreciate how much the Volunteer Corps has grown and evolved.
-
They help Lakeside create goals moving forward. If Lakeside knows how many hours you worked this season, together, we can create goals that will help improve our efforts during the 2021 Chautauqua season and beyond.
For these reasons, we encourage you to submit your volunteer hours by contacting communications@lakesideohio.com, (419) 798-4461, ext. 246 or visiting us in-person at 217 Walnut Ave.
