The Barton Family & USA Image Step Up & Help!
If you were making a Venn diagram, you might find it difficult at first to see the common ground between a petite, charming Ocherese named Zoe, a company that does innovative design and printing, and WAGS. The intersection point – all dog lovers and all community-minded. That’s the magic of the WAGS community – bringing together people of all backgrounds, who all love dogs, and who each contribute in individual ways.
Michele Barton joined WAGS as her nest was emptying. A life-long dog lover, at this point in her life she found she had time to consider ways she and her sweet Zoe could help the community. She and Zoe are regulars at Peggy Modjeski’s WAGS Dogs in Training group and they are working toward becoming an Ambassador Team. Luckily for WAGS, she also introduced her husband, Robert, to WAGS, and he offered the services of USA Image and Vismark to help with the design of new branding and support products. As he succinctly put it, “These folks are doing good in the community, how can we help?” And help they did, by donating their company time and expertise to our organization.
If you live in Louisville, you have undoubtedly seen the Hometown Hero Banners, created by USA Image, throughout the city. Not being a Louisville native, they have been particularly important to me, as they helped me grow a sense of pride in what is now my hometown. WAGS is so fortunate that these experts offered to provide images and branded materials such as tents, backdrops, table covers, and t-shirts. Don’t you love your WAGS 25th Anniversary tee? And, if you are lucky, you’ve won a tumbler at a membership meeting raffle, made by their sister company, Vismark.
USA Image had recently brought the Director of Design, Mike Herbert, on board. Over the last year, USA Image has established a design division generating environmental graphics, branding graphic collateral, signage and wayfinding, and illustration services for our community and region. We are so grateful for the countless hours Mike spent with WAGS, understanding our mission and how to convey our purpose. He designed a logo, graphics, and color palette that helps others quickly grasp who we are and what our mission involves. He helped us toward the goal of creating consistency across all our publications, website, and at our events. WAGS would also like to thank Camille Watson, who helps USA Image to manage the production of branded products. As the editor of the Wagazine and The Furrier Journal, I was thrilled to use the wonderful new graphics and color palettes you see in our recent publications. Like most Waggers, I am a volunteer without professional experience, and it has been a real joy to work with such high-quality materials and designs.
Community – a word that encompasses both giving and receiving. Once again, the WAGS community received help so we can continue to give back. Thanks to Mike Herbert, Camille Watson, the Barton family (especially Zoe!), and USA Image and Vismark for helping us continue to help others!
