Quarter 2 | June 2023

Thank you for taking the time to read our 2nd Quarter newsletter for 2023. I hope this newsletter finds you well, and that you are enjoying the summer and making memories.

Remember to take time for self-care this summer. Here are some ideas on two minute self-care breaks:

  • Stretch
  • Take some deep breaths
  • Have a screen break
  • Close your eyes and do nothing
  • Message someone who inspires you
  • Seek silence and reset
  • Step outside for fresh air
  • Play your favorite song

Self-care for Women Leaders

Self-care for women leaders is incredibly important in order to stay healthy, grounded, and productive. Taking the time to practice self care can look different for everyone - here are some tips that can be helpful tips to consider:

  1. Make time for yourself. Take a break from work and other obligations and make time for activities that you enjoy, such as reading, exercising and spending time outdoors.
  2. Connect with people. Reach out to friends, family members and peers who can provide emotional support and help you stay connected.
  3. Take a mental health day. Consider taking a day off to relax, unwind, and do something that you enjoy.
  4. Practice mindfulness. Mindfulness can help reduce stress and anxiety. Taking a few minutes each day to practice deep breathing and/or meditation can help you stay centered and focused.
  5. Get enough sleep. Aim to get 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night to ensure that you are well-rested and energized.
  6. Eat healthy meals. Eating a healthy and balanced diet can help keep your energy levels up and improve your overall wellbeing.

By taking the time to prioritize self care, women leaders can stay productive and energized while also maintaining their mental and physical health.

Tips for Job Advancement

There are numerous ways to advance in your career and reach your goals!

Here are a few tips that may help you on your journey:

  1. Take initiative - Don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do, look for ways to add value to your organization or act on opportunities that come your way.
  2. Network - Making connections with people in your industry and building relationships can help open doors for new opportunities.
  3. Develop your skills - Take advantage of training opportunities and stay up-to-date with changes in the industry.
  4. Be organized - Make sure you’re keeping track of your tasks and deadlines.
  5. Ask for feedback - Talking to your supervisor and asking for feedback can help you understand what areas you need to focus on.
  6. Be proactive - Show your employer that you’re looking for new opportunities and that you’re willing to take on more responsibility.

Best of luck on your journey to career advancement!

Thank you to our volunteers who came out for a successful first Summer Volunteer Day.”
