This theme is a tribute to the never-ending work that caregivers and the frontline workers throughout the ongoing pandemic. It is also a recognition of the many ways women of all cultures have provided both healing and hope throughout history.

“Caring for others is important, but COVID-19 taught us that sometimes, by caring for yourself, you’re caring for others too.” -Becca Kaye

As women, we are often caring for others and forget to make time for ourselves. Self-care is super important for the mind, body, and soul. Did you know that there are 8 components of self-care? Here are the 8 components of self-care and how you can implement in your daily life.

  • Physical: Movement of the body, health, nutrition, sleep and resting needs.
  • Emotional: Enhancing emotional literacy, navigating emotions, increasing empathy, and managing stress effectively.
  • Social: Having a supportive group and network of relationships around you that you can trust and turn to.
  • Environmental: Having an organized, well maintained, and clutter-free work, business, and home environment, having clean and well-maintained mode of transport.
  • Spiritual: Having beliefs and values that are important to you and guide your life.
  • Financial: Being responsible with your finances and having a conscious relationship with money.
  • Occupational: Sharing your strengths and gifts, having clear professional boundaries, and living your purpose.
  • Mental: Learning new things, practicing mindfulness and creativity.

“Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.” -Eleanor Brown

What self-care routine will you implement in your daily, weekly, monthly routine? Feel free to share your self-care routine on your social media and #WICTGOSelfCare2022
