Well Being In the Nation (WIN) Network and WE in the World
WIN is here to stay

Many of you received a note this week that Well Being Trust (WBT) is being redirected to internal purposes and closing its doors as a foundation. We at the WIN Network owe a huge debt of gratitude to Well Being Trust for the visionary and catalytic funding required to launch this network--and congratulate WBT on its incredible accomplishments in building a connected movement for mental health and well-being across the nation. What a powerful example of what is possible if you believe in unprecedented collaboration and catalytic grantmaking!

On our part, WIN has never drawn more than a small portion of our funding from WBT since our launch; it is co-invested in by members and partners who give their time, talent and treasure to our shared mission. This issue is all about their work. In the context of everything that is happening in our world, we need a network that connects those working to build intergenerational well-being and equity across groups and sectors, from the grassroots to the grasstops, more than ever.

WIN is here to stay. We invite you to lean in and join us.
An Open Letter to All Who Believe in Democracy From PolicyLink's president and CEO Michael McCafee:

"We have the power to realize a nation rooted in racial, economic, and gender equity—deserving of the generations to come. It is ours to build together. We the People are the true Founders. We always have been, even when deemed invisible under the law. We must design a nation that works for all.

Imagine: our families are safe, we have everything we need, our communities are thriving, we all belong, we honor and respect each other’s humanity, we are all free, and there is enough for everyone. This is not a fairy tale, but a glimpse at the future we can create together. "
Tools to build equity

The Aligning Systems for Health project was created in part to help collaboratives move past short-term initiatives and toward long-term systems changes that improve community well-being in sustainable ways. The Toolkit for Everyone Aligning and Measuring, or TEAM for short, is designed to help people think about measurement in the context of health collaboratives and aligning efforts across sectors.

People participating in collaboratives have different roles, needs, and perspectives. The TEAM contains four main parts that each help people think about measurement in a different way.

Supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Raising the Bar provides an actionable framework for the entire healthcare sector—from providers, to payers, to the public health community—to embed equity throughout its work and help achieve optimal health for all. Raising the Bar worked with healthcare leaders and those who experience inequities to craft foundational, central principles that can serve as healthcare’s gravitational force to continuously center equity work. Essential roles healthcare must play revolve around these principles, each with corresponding concrete actions that can improve equity.
