Navigating Clinical Trials

Powerful takeaway from a recent support group meeting: start a conversation with a Clinical Trial Nurse Navigator earlier in the process! Even if you are not currently seeking a new treatment option, you can prepare for future decisions.

IWMF’s DC/Maryland/N. Virginia Support Group hosted Meghan McGrath, NP, of Blood Cancer United, for a helpful overview of clinical trials and the Clinical Trial Support Center. Watch above.

Mindfulness and Pain

Did you know that mindfulness meditation may help ease pain?

Meta-analyses indicate that Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBIs) are a highly effective non-pharmacological approach, resulting in significant reductions in both pain severity and the distress associated with chronic pain.

Try our recent Meditation to Manage Pain and let us know if it helps. Note: this is a complementary intervention that can be practiced alongside, not instead of, standard medical care.

Sign up for live Mindfulness Meditations with the WM Community.

"No matter what diagnosis you carry, committing to a healthy lifestyle is one of the most powerful tools you have to navigate life's challenges. The Wellness Program is here to give you those exact tools. Please keep using them."
