"Thanks, IWMF for being there to answer questions, & for your kindness and support. I don’t know where I would be without the IWMF!" -M.J.
- Holiday Message from the IWMF-
As we get closer to the end of 2022, we reflect on the past year.

Our Educational Forum was a huge success, we approved funding for 7 research projects, and the new WM Physicians Guide is being distributed to more than 16,000 hematologist-oncologists nationwide in the United States.

We know many of our community members and caregivers may have family to share happy and difficult times with, but we also want to acknowledge some of you may be living alone and not have support close at hand. We are here to connect you with other people who may know how you feel and what you are experiencing, and your IWMF team wants you to know that we will continue to do whatever it takes to be there for you. With the click of a mouse, you can access U.S. and International support groups and know that with the IWMF, you are never alone!

IWMF Board Trustee and WM Expert Receives Award from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
On December 14th, Dr. Stephen M. Ansell (second from left; Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN) was awarded the LLS Excellence in Scientific Service Award by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Dr. Ansell’s research is focused on understanding the biology of B-cell malignancies and to explore the role of the tumor microenvironment in supporting cancer cell growth and survival. The goal of his program is to translate this knowledge into new treatment approaches for patients. His research has contributed to the use of immune checkpoint therapy in lymphomas.

Dr. Ansell is a top physician at the forefront of treatment and research for WM. In August, he gave a presentation at the IWMF Virtual Educational Forum titled Unusual Complications of WM: Concerns and Best Practices. Check it out HERE.
