Warm Wishes and Winter News

As we enter the final month of the year, The Wallace Center is filled with gratitude, celebration, and renewed energy for the season ahead. December brings you opportunities to reflect on a year of growth and connection while inviting you to gather and close 2025 on a joyful note.


Throughout the month, we’re hosting holiday events, festive workshops, and community gatherings that highlight the warmth and creativity of the season. December features include Christmas and the American Musicals, Holiday Card Writing, the opportunity to learn about services provided by Jewish Family Services of Greenwich, Wreath Decorating, Bingo and much more!

 

Please note that the Wallace Center will be closed December 22nd through January 2nd for a full cleaning of the space. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to starting the new year refreshed and ready for more great programs together.

Special Announcement regarding 2026 Parking Permits:


Thank you to those who have already signed our new Agreement and Release Waiver, helping bring the Wallace Center into alignment with current best practices.


Please remember that only active Wallace Center members in compliance with signing the waiver are eligible to purchase a parking permit. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, you will not be able to purchase a 2026 permit. This policy must be followed without exception.


To qualify as an active member, you must have signed in for at least 12 activities at the Wallace Center or visits to the Wallace Café in 2025. Members who joined during 2025 will have this requirement prorated based on their join date. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please speak with a member of our staff.


2026 parking permits will be available for purchase to eligible Wallace Center members beginning Monday, December 8, 2025.

Checks made payable to the Town of Greenwich or exact $5.00 in cash are accepted. No credit cards.

Join us to discover how, when, and where some of our most beloved Christmas carols were written, based on research by 102-year-old Wallace Center member Winona Mullis. Sponsored by the G.R.E.A.T.S. and presented by Winona Mullis, Frank Rota, Roger Musetti, Jean Pennicott, and Adele Rota, with piano accompaniment by Janice (Janet) Rendell—followed by a sing-along and festive refreshments.

Holiday Tea with the Holleys

Cozy up in the barn for a holiday tea party featuring food, tea, live harp music, and a docent-led tour highlighting the Holley family traditions and the Impressionist artists who lived and worked at the Holley boarding house. Guests can also explore The Holley Boarding House: Inspiring American Impressionism exhibition before relaxing in the warm, festive barn; registration is required.

RMA speaker presentations are presented as a community service at no cost to in-person or Zoom attendees, regardless of gender. The programs begin at 11 AM. Plan your arrival so you are seated by that time. They conclude at noon.

Medicare Open Enrollment

The Commission on Aging is currently scheduling appointments for Medicare Open Enrollment counseling. During this annual window, Medicare beneficiaries can reevaluate their prescription drug coverage. The Wallace Cafe is open to members from 8:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. Enjoy a nutritious and delicious hot or cold breakfast and lunch with daily specials and a la carte options! You now have a place to grab a cup of coffee, a bite to eat, and meet friends. 

Wallace Cafe meals are now available and specially packaged for home. With our for home options dinner and weekend meal planning will be a breeze. Check the display case or kiosk to explore the menu and see pricing details.
