Read this word from Habitat for Humanity CEO, Jonathan Reckford, about the hope that we are reminded of this Easter:
"In recent weeks, we’ve been reminded that communities around the world have reached the one-year mark of the COVID-19 pandemic that has impacted so much of our daily lives...
While we have spent months wanting control of our lives back again, Lent reminds us that God is in control. We can trust Him even when we are carrying heavy burdens. Especially in those times....
As we journey toward the cross, we are reminded that there is hope....God has been faithful.... The pandemic exacerbated an already desperate housing crisis, so our goal has been to emerge in a stronger position than ever before. We are encouraged by new vaccines and falling numbers of people who are sick, so I pray that we will be celebrating soon. But we must hang on a little longer....
Sunday is coming. We can look forward to a season of hope and new life. We must continue to look up toward the God who loves us unconditionally, look out toward the promise that things will be better, and look forward — taking one step at a time in humble obedience."
