Honoring Roger L. Perry
Lakehill Headmaster for 39 years.
As Lakehill Alumni began filling the Environmental Science Center on Sunday afternoon, there was a common phrase that was repeatedly heard, "I wouldn't miss this for anything!" Lakehill Alumni traveled from Houston, Oklahoma City, Florida, Ohio, and around the city of Dallas to celebrate Mr. Perry’s tenure, retirement, and commitment to the Warrior family.
“Some of these people have not seen each other in over 40 years,” said Mr. Perry. With over 75 Alumni in attendance, memories flooded the room and Mr. Perry was beaming with joy. As individuals approached him, the stories came to life and Mr. Perry could recall every detail.

Mr. Perry addressed the Alumni halfway through the event, thanking them for being there and allowing him to be a part of their lives. We look forward to sharing more memories for the 50th school year celebration beginning next fall. Thanks to all Alumni and families for attending.

Special thanks to the owners of Rudolph’s Market, the Andreason family, for providing the food.
Thank you to everyone who donated to the Warrior Fund this year! Your generosity was key in providing the resources and technology needed to keep students learning this year. With your donation, you truly made a difference.

We are $5,500 away from reaching our goal!!

You can still make an impact and parent participation is key. Please help us close the gap. To donate, click the link below or text "GIVE" to 469-393-7038.

We thank you for your patience and will get them distributed as soon as they arrive. Look for pick up and/or delivery options coming in an email to you soon. For those that haven’t yet ordered, it’s not too late to order one (or two) to enjoy on your beach trip/mountain getaway, or other upcoming summer down time.

The Tragedy of Julius Caesar
by: Elizabeth Schmitt, Middle School English Teacher

Students in eighth grade recently completed their unit on Shakespeare’s  Julius Caesar. Rather than assign one summative assessment, students had a choice of eight different projects ranging from presentations on the Roman world to drawing, animating or performing a scene to creating a board game. The most popular choice was creating a news broadcast reporting Caesar’s assassination.

One project did stand out: Matthew Hjertstedt painstakingly created a 90 second animation of the moments leading to the assassination of Caesar. The short film took over 20 hours to produce. Each and every project demonstrated an understanding of the play as well as revealing aspects of their creative personalities.
