The annual Lakehill Kindergarten Rodeo took place last week after a week-long study of Texas. The cowgirls and cowboys were dressed to the nines with their jeans, boots, and hats. They participated in several activities including horse races, lassoing a steer, and throwing horseshoes.

Join us in honoring everyone's favorite Headmaster as he prepares to retire at the end of this school year. Roger Perry joined Lakehill as a coach and member of the faculty in 1975, moving up to Headmaster in 1982. His esteemed Warrior career has encompassed hundreds of amazing graduates, Invention Convention projects, athletic events, and hundreds of thousands of morning handshakes (although he's getting creative this year).

We look forward to “seeing” you there!

Senior Work Day
Roger L. Perry Campus
On Wednesday, October 14, the Class of 2021 participated in the annual Senior work day. Led by Mr. Perry, the Seniors worked at the ESC. They began the morning by cleaning up the river rocks and moving them to the outer banks. They had a mid-day break and lunch from the delicious Burger House. The second half of the day was spent cleaning up the hiking trail near the pond.

Mr. Perry is very proud of the work completed on Wednesday and thanks the Class of 2021.

Cross Country
Running to State
Is there a better way to begin a cool, crisp, fall morning than to run around White Rock Lake? With new singlets and the cooler weather, the Lakehill Cross Country team will continue the momentum as they prepare for the State Meet.

In the past, the Cross Country team has been nothing short of successful. With State Championships in 2011, 2012, 2013, a 7th place individual medal and 25th overall in the girls division last year, the team is continuing to run towards success.

Avery Owen and Cullen McCaleb are both ranked 2nd overall in the State. The ranking is based on times and the two athletes have high hopes for the remainder of the 2020 season. Coach Karen Owen continues to praise the hard work and determination of these multi sport athletes. They wake up each morning at 5:00 am and run while it is still dark. "Ethan Westerberg is new to the sport and has faster times than any freshman I have coached," says Coach Owen. "Ellis Meyer is a sophomore and has broken his personal records in every race this season."

Congratulations on all the success so far and the Lakehill community looks forward to cheering on these Warriors as they continue the journey to the State meet.
