TREK FOR TECH VIRTUAL ONE MILE FUN RUN & 5K RACE

This year, our races will be run virtually and you will log your race times manually on GetMeRegistered.com. To qualify for an award, you must upload an image of your time from your personal fitness tracker (Garmin, FitBit, Starva, etc.). This year the One Mile Fun Run is a timed event. Awards will be given to fastest student (girl and boy) and adult (male and female) in the One Mile Fun Run and 5K Race. For adults, the awards will be determined by age group as usual. Races must be run the week of November 1-7. $30 per person includes the official TREK t-shirt and Awards Show & Trivia Game.
FIT FOR TECH 21-DAY FITNESS CHALLENGE

NEW THIS YEAR! For those not inclined to race, we are offering a 21-day ‘active minutes’ fitness challenge. Track your minutes for a scheduled walk, run, swim, cycle, yoga or other fitness activity and log your minutes on ChallengeRunner.com. You can upload your minutes manually or set up an automatic upload by registering your personal fitness tracker (Garmin, FitBit, Starva, etc.). Awards will be given to the fittest student (girl and boy) in each grade. For adults, the awards will be determined by age group. The Fitness Challenge will run from October 17-November 6. $30 per person includes the official TREK t-shirt and Awards Show & Trivia Game.
 AWARDS SHOW AND
TRIVIA GAME
NEW THIS YEAR! One of the special parts of TREK for TECH is to gather together in person as a Lakehill family on the parking lot on Race Day. Unfortunately, that will not be possible this year so we’ll do the next best thing – gather online by Zoom to celebrate our race and fitness challenge winners, announce the raffle prize winners and to play a super fun Lakehill-inspired Trivia Game. You won’t want to miss this! Purchase of Awards Show & Trivia Game ONLY also includes the official TREK t-shirt. $30 per person.

Warrior Football
The Warrior Football team kicked off the season in spectacular fashion last Friday with a dominating 86-66 win over Plano Coram Deo. The Warriors were led by Ryan Henry on Defense, while Nathan Lewis, Mitchell Crow, and Billy Leake dominated offensively.

Tomorrow night's game has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns at the opposing school.

JV Warrior Football will kick off next Saturday, October 10 at home vs Ft Worth Covenant Classical at 1:00 pm. Due to restricted admission, cheer on the Warriors on our TAPPSTV channel.
Warrior Volleyball
The Warrior Volleyball teams started district play this week. On Tuesday night they took on a strong Lucas Christian team. The Warriors, led by Jourdyn Owens, Hannah Reister, Avery Owen, Jade Stephens, and Maddie Cerda came out on top winning in 4 sets. The Varsity is now 3-0 on the year and 1-0 in district play.

The JV Volleyball team has shown great improvement over the past two weeks and is looking to secure their first win. Coach Cayme is proud of the adjustments and how well they competed in the first two sets against Lucas Christian on Tuesday night.

Warrior Volleyball is back in action tonight at home vs McKinney Cornerstone. First serve for JV is at 5:00 pm and Varsity will follow.
Cross Country
The Cross Country team had a record breaking start to the season!
Last Saturday morning, the sun was out, the air was crisp, and the competition was fierce. It was the perfect setting for the Cross Country team to break Lakehill records!

"It is very difficult to set personal records (PR) in the first race of the season," said Head Coach Karen Owen. "The weather was just perfect and the great competition made for a day of PR's for all four runners."

Cullen McCaleb now has the fastest 5k time in Lakehill history. Cullen finished 3rd with a time of 17:13. Ellis Meyer finished at 20:42 and Ethan Westerberg at 21:55. There were a total of 126 men's 5k competitors.

For the women's 3200, Avery Owen clinched the 8th spot running a 12:34. Avery crushed the previous Lakehill 10th and 11th grade season records.

"This is the fastest team in Lakehill history," says Coach Owen. "I am honored to coach such hard working and mentally tough runners!"
