Variation on Jingle Bells
by Tracy Herron, Choir Director
For the past thirteen years, the Lakehill Chorale has ended the annual Winter Concert with a wonderful arrangement of a well-known classic, "Variation on Jingle Bells." This year, the piece is performed by seniors Sophia Ganson and Keegan Clendenin who recorded their parts separately and through the magic of video editing appear to be on stage together. The tradition lives on! Please enjoy and Happy Holidays!

Mr. Herron

Lakehill On Broadway 2020
by Mr. Mark Guerra, Theatre Arts Director
One of the highlights of every school year is the annual Upper School musical production. Due to the pandemic, we have shifted the way we are performing this year! As they say in the circus, THE SHOW MUST GO ON!

Mr. Herron and I wanted to place the creative control in the hands of the students and allow them to choose and perform one of their favorite songs. Students chose a song, recorded their own vocals, which were then layered over the instrumental track, and then filmed their project. We would like to now present to you Act One of our class project, “On Broadway 2020."

Please click the link below to the Google Drive Folder that contains the completed numbers thus far. In the spring semester, we will be uploading “Act Two” of our productions.

Special thanks to senior Sarah Smith for being the stage manager and the audio and video editor. Please enjoy the talented students of Lakehill Musical Theatre!

Parade of Gifts
Each year, Lakehill Lower Schoolers collect gifts to donate to needy children in the Dallas area. This year has been tough for many families and our community partners reported a higher need than ever for toys, games, and books for Dallas kids.

Lower School Warriors and their families answered the call with a jaw-dropping 209 toys collected! Our collections have been donated to the Wilkinson Center, who aids homeless families in the Dallas area, and Hope Supply Co., who works with dozens of partner agencies to distribute goodies to neighborhoods who need it most.

Thank you to everyone who donated to this year's toy drive just when Dallas needed it most!
Bridge Project
Every fall, Mr. Musselman challenges his Physics students to a bridge design project.

Challenge: Build a bridge from standard wooden toothpicks (no longer than 7 cm or about 2.5 inches) and glue of any type. Solid glue sticks may not be used within the structure. The bridge may not be painted, coated, laminated or treated in any way. You may not coat the entire bridge or significant portions with glue .You may not bundle more than 5 toothpicks together - except at the loading site.

After the bridge is approved by all the design specifications and guidelines, it is put to the test. Check out some of the bridges that our students created!
