Letter from the Headmaster
Welcome to the 2016-17 school year. This year, we are embarking on an exciting adventure, one that will set us an on amazing course for the future.
The addition of 16,000 square feet and the renovation of an additional 8,000 square feet of existing space will bring welcome room for growth and change. Although we are still in the early stages of construction, we have accomplished even more this summer than meets the eye.
As I walk around the campus, marking our progress and all the physical changes, I reflect on our many traditions. After 45 years of creating opportunities for children and our community, the history of our school is firmly embedded in our hearts. Our traditions will continue to be the foundation of our Lakehill community. While the timing and location of some of these treasured traditions and events may change, our core values will remain constant.
With construction of our new facility now fully underway, we have an unbelievable opportunity to enrich our curriculum, implement new ideas and programs, and embrace change. The future of Lakehill is firmly in our hands. While construction is needed, welcomed, and exciting, it also will require patience, perseverance, and cooperation from all of us. I am confident that the Lakehill community is up to the task. The end results of our efforts will be amazing.
In this year of transition, I hope we will all remember and celebrate the traditions in our hearts as we move forward together, realizing that the future is in our hands.

Get Ready for the Warriors
Varsity and JV Volleyball
The JV and Varsity Volleyball teams have been hard at work since August 1 to prepare for the season. For the past six years, Lakehill has been a 2A school in TAPPS, but this year has moved up to 3A.
Lynley Waggoner, and
Ella Witherite make up the largest number of freshmen players in many years. Sophomores
Macy Ellis, and
Tyler McCall round out the underclassmen. Juniors
Lovely Lopez and
Ashley Peacock are joined by senior
Salma El-Feky and captains
Abi Price, and
McKinney Waggoner. This group of 16 hopes to continue and build on the success of previous teams.
Both teams have had a productive pre-season. JV is currently 1-2 after a big win at home on August 23 against Garland Christian. Varsity is currently 4-1 with wins over Bethesda Christian, Waco Live Oak, Colleyville Covenant, and Garland Christian. The Live Oak game last week was highlighted as the TAPPS small school game of the week. Varsity will play in the McKinney Christian Tournament this weekend before both JV and Varsity travel to Shelton
on August 30.
The Varsity team is coached by
Jhoana Cayme-Mosley and the Varsity team by Katie Ford.
Varsity and Middle School Football
The Lakehill Warriors kick off the 2016 season
this Friday with a road game at Decatur Victory Christian. The 2016 squad returns 12 lettermen from last year's State Playoff team and has 21 members total, making it Coach Peacock's largest team in his nine seasons at the school. With the increase in our high school enrollment, TAPPS has moved the Warriors from Division II to Division I for football.
Head Varsity Coach
Chris Peacock is optimistic about the season. "The move up in classification will be a good challenge for us. We made the playoffs in 2013 as a Division I school so there's no reason we can't do it again. With a large group of seniors and a number of energetic younger players, there is a solid blend of experience and youth. We'll stay focused on the
Friday in front of us and work hard to improve each and every day."
The Warriors home opener will be the annual Tailgate Game on
Friday, September 2
. Lakehill will host Greenville Christian, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. at the Warrior Athletic Complex. The Middle School team, coached by Rob Vaughan, will kick off their season at 5:00 p.m. against Dallas Lutheran.
Lakehill's Varsity Cheerleaders spent time this summer perfecting their skills and bonding as a team. In addition to several weeks of practice, the girls spent three days working with a coach from Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), who taught them dances, stunts, and cheers.
Co-Captains of the squad are
Tillie McCoskey and
McKinney Waggoner. New cheerleaders this year are
Stella Palmer, and
Lynley Waggoner. They are coached by
squad prepared for the new year by attending a private NCA
camp this summer. They earned several awards, including the Herkimer award, along with invitations to perform at future events and competitions.
The squad is preparing for the first Middle School football game on
before the Tailgate Party and their first pep rally of the year honoring football and volleyball players on
The squad is coached by Tam Badgett and Kaye Hauschild.
