We need your voice to help us shape the future of TRCS!
February 14, 2020
Happy Friday to you! It has been a great week of school at TRCS. We had a very fun Valentine’s Day celebration. The leadership team did a great job putting on a fun movie afternoon for the 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Meanwhile, they created a celebratory atmosphere for the 4th and 5th graders with bingo, jeopardy, Valentine card exchange and Pixar shorts. Shout out to the amazing boxes that our fourth and fifth graders made!
We are looking forward to having our parent ODS meeting on Thursday, February 20th. We are excited to be teaming with Trackers this year for the second year in a row and looking forward to a new experience at Camp Tapawingo, west of Salem! We request that at least one parent with students attending ODS this year please attend this meeting.
Reminder: we will not be in school on Monday as we celebrate President's Day. I hope you enjoy your three day weekend!
Compassion thought of the week: As President’s Day approaches, I am reminded of this quote from FDR, “Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the assessment that something else is more important than fear.” I find that fear often stops us from even starting. I challenge us all to not let fear stop us from being compassionate.
We will see everybody on Tuesday!

While the 6th, 7th and 8th graders are at outdoor school for the week, we have planned a special week for our 4th and 5th graders. See the schedule here . While students will have regular math and language arts classes all week, they will also have the opportunity to travel to the Wilsonville Library to help them prep for IP, see an educational play at Oregon Children's Theater, and work on a very special art project. To add to the week, we are offering three optional lunches for purchase. It is going to be an awesome week!
Yesterday, packets of info went home with all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade parents regarding the upcoming week at Camp Tapawingo . It is very important that parents read through the information carefully, as there are many details that go into this activity. We try very hard to communicate clearly and concisely. There is an ODS parent meeting on Feb. 20th at 6:00pm. All paperwork & payments are due by February 20th!
We have a PE unit coming up! The week of February 24-27, we are travelling to  the Courts in Beaverton  for PE. The PE unit this time is basketball! Each day of that week, students must dress appropriately for PE, especially their footwear - sneakers are required all week! Students are excused from activity with a doctors note only.
