What's Happening at TRCS
A MESSAGE FROM NIC CHAPIN
|
Happy Friday! What a fantastic spirit week at TRCS! We had a lot of fun with so many students and staff participating. All the themes and costumes were creative and amazing. Our week culminated with our student-led Harvest Party! Student leaders did a great job planning, organizing and working during the party. Great job, leadership team!
Thank you to all the Fun Run participants and volunteers! We would like to have all the pledge money collected by Monday morning at 8:00. We will be announcing our prizes to the students during our morning meeting! They are excited to see who won the prizes!
Compassion thought of the week: I had an anonymous 4th-grade student tell me this week, “Everything would be better if everybody was just nice to people.” I couldn’t agree more. I thought this was a very thoughtful statement by one of our very own students.
I hope everybody has a great weekend and we will see you on Monday!

We were so lucky last Friday to avoid the showers that came at dismissal time! The skies were clear as our students circled the rugby field and a fun time was had by all. Thank you to all of the parents that came out to volunteer - we couldn't have done it without you! A special shout out to Shuo Sheng
for taking spectacular photos of the event.
Please remember to turn in all pledge money by Monday, November 4th at 8:00 am
. We will be tallying up all the totals to announce the winners at our mor
ning meeting! Many TRCS families are neck and neck to win the outing for pizza lunch, so let's get those funds turned in!

Here's our October Bottle Drop update! Since September 26th, we've taken 53 bags to various Bottle Drop locations! Thank you to those families who are dropping their own bags - it's always a nice surprise to see the account balance go up unexpectedly. If we keep up this pace we will drop over 350 bags this year! That will get us close to our goal of $3,000 so keep it up! As of 10/31, we are 11% to our goal and we've raised $335.20! Think of the TRCS Bottle Drop Drive as the holiday season approaches. A few requests from us - please make sure to rinse your cans and bottles, fill your bags completely (there's a line on most bags), and to tie off the bags so they're secure.

We are officially finished with our October rugby unit. We were outside on the beautiful field for 8 days this month and only had to contend with the rain once! We really lucked out with the weather. Ask your student(s) what they learned about rugby and the haka! The men's Rugby World Cup finishes up this weekend with South Africa going against England.

It's that time again! The Yearbook Club needs a baby picture from each current 8th grade student. The photos can be sent digitally to Mrs. Bremont at
jbremont@3rcs.org
. They can also be brought to school in hard copy to be scanned and returned. Please make every effort to send us your photo before Winter Break!

The Friendsgiving committee is working on planning a fun evening on Nov. 14th! If anyone will be getting rid of uncarved pumpkins or gourds after Halloween, before you send then off to the compost pile, could we use them for Friendsgiving? We are hoping to collect uncarved pumpkins and gourds to use that evening. If you are planning to get rid of any after Halloween, please email
Karen Gault
. She will be happy to meet you at drop-off or pick-up to collect them!
The invite and potluck sign-up were sent out this week via Signup Genius! Please check your email, RSVP, and sign-up to bring a dish to share. We hope to see you there!
