The
Wave
November 15, 2019
Happy Friday to you! We are a week away from the end of the term. We were busy this week finishing up projects and curriculum as we race to the end of the term. It has been a fun week seeing all the finished projects and success for our students.

We hope everybody that made it out to Friendsgiving had a wonderful time. It was great seeing our community come together for the 3rd Annual Friendsgiving. The school was full of positive, friendly energy as parents and students came together to share friendship, fun, and gratitude for our amazing community. Thank you to Karen Gault and her team!

We have an opportunity to add to our amazing school in certain areas through the Student Success Act. I sent an email earlier this week explaining the grant and the link to the needs survey . The grant requires us to hear from our community. If you have not had a chance to fill it out, please take the time in the next few days to do so. It is critical for our grant application. Thank you to the district for allowing us to partner with them in this grant opportunity.

Compassion thought of the week: This week in advisory we had our students working on compassion quotes and what compassion means to them. We had some amazing responses. I will be sharing those in this section of the wave for the remainder of the year. This week, we hear from one of our 6th graders, “I believe that compassion is selflessly putting others before yourself, especially if they are struggling, without wanting or requesting anything back.” This week lets practice the advice of our students and put others first.

We hope you have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday!
