What's Happening at TRCS
A MESSAGE FROM NIC CHAPIN
|
Happy Friday! It was great to see all of you at Back to School Night. We had a wonderful time seeing all those who were able to make it. We had another great week at TRCS. We loved connecting with our new families at conferences. Our staff truly enjoyed having the opportunity to meet with new students and their family members to celebrate successes and explore areas for growth. It is days like this that I realize how special the TRCS community is!
As the end of summer is turning into fall, please make sure that your student brings a jacket or stores one in their locker. We try and get outside as much as possible throughout the year, even in light drizzle!
In the coming weeks, we will have a spot in the Wave for “Friday Happenings.” This will be a place to highlight opportunities in our community that are available. It will also be a place for people to share what they are doing on Fridays in the community.
Compassion thought of the week: No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. This week let us continue to focus on being kind and when the scenarios call for it, to be kinder than necessary.
Have a great weekend and we will see everyone on Monday!
Nic Chapin

the auction
, scheduled for April 17th - mark your calendars now! The kick-off planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24th at 3:30 at TRCS! Contact us at TRCSFundraisingCommittee@gmail.com.
Curriculum:
Thank you for coming to back to school night! We loved hearing about your student's successes in the first weeks of school. For those who couldn't make it, take a
brief look
at our 2019-2020 curriculum. We heard more in-depth explanations from from our staff and answered questions from the audience.
Don't forget about our
Bottle Drop Give
campaign! Have your students get bags from Ms. Elston, fill them up with your aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and glass bottles, and then either take them to your nearest Bottle Drop location, or drop them by school and watch our balance increase! We have a goal of $3,000!
Parent Engagement and Events:
Thanks to everyone who came to Back-to-School Night and signed up to help make this an exciting year at TRCS! Everyone that has a student at TRCS is a part of the TRCS parent group! The parent group will work with teachers and staff throughout the year to put on several community building events, fundraising events, and appreciation events. Many hands make light work and we would love your participation! Wondering how you can get involved, meet other parents, and have some fun along the way? Please look at the
calendar of events
and contact
KarenGaultLAC@gmail.com
if you would like participate in the planning of any of these events. We are still looking for a couple of co-chairs for Friendsgiving in November and the Grandparent's Day Pancake Breakfast in February. We are also looking for the DJ for the Fun Run in October. We discussed having class representatives for each grade level to help with coordinating communications and possibly arranging some grade level socials. Each fall we update immunization records to stay in accordance with Clackamas County regulations. If your child has received booster shots or immunizations over the summer please let
the office
know. Additionally, if you decide to
opt out of immunizations
you must
watch the Vaccine Education Module for children in childcare, preschool, or K-12 and print out the Vaccine Education Certificate at the end of the module. Then submit the certificate of completion to the school office. If you opt-out of immunizations, a new certificate of completion for the online module must be submitted each year.
All students need to have all
required shots or a medical or non-medical exemption to stay enrolled
before February 2020, prior to the state exclusion day.
