Dear ECA Families,
Christmas Break is here! There is no school for students and the office is closed for Christmas break through January 3rd. Students will return to school and the office will reopen Monday, January 4th. If you have an urgent matter that pertains to the office, please email Lynne Willis, lwillis@ecaoh.com and she will gladly assist you.
We pray that as you celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, you and your family are filled with His peace and joy. We dearly love our ECA Family and thank you for entrusting us with your child's education.
On behalf of the Administration and staff at ECA, we’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Your student is invited to join Mrs. Emma Miller for a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience to England, France and Amsterdam during Spring Break 2022!
As you know, because of the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, we have postponed our original trip from this coming year's spring break to Spring Break 2022. Although we are bummed that we can't travel this year as planned, we are excited to open more spots and give the opportunity for new students to join our already amazing group in 2022.
While the world might feel like it's filled with uncertainty, we want to give families the chance to look ahead. To make sure you feel confident making future travel plans, EF is offering a risk-free enrollment period that our group can take advantage of if we enroll now - meaning, if you sign up now, you have until May 1, 2021 to cancel with a full, 100% refund. This allows families with uncertain financial situations in the future to cancel if needed, and lose no money in the process!
Watch this video to catch a glimpse of what the on-tour experience might look like for your child: EF The Global Classroom
Mrs. Miller plans to host an in-person meeting at some point next semester to dive further into the details about EF and our trip. However, she wants to open enrollment now to allow families to take advantage of EF's $300 Fall Early Enrollment Discount and risk-free enrollment period.
Enrollment will be open now through the end of the month and you can enroll at our website www.eftours.com/2408897SF or call EF's Traveler Support at 800-665-5364.
Give the gift of travel this holiday season and give your student something to look forward to!

INSTAGRAM MAKES THE NAUGHTY LIST
|
WHAT IT IS: Forget Santa or the Elf on the Shelf, a new lawsuit claims that Instagram sees you when you're sleeping and knows when you're awake. The app has been accused of using users' cameras to collect their data even when they're not logged in.
WHY IT COULD BE THE BEGINNING OF THE END FOR INSTAGRAM: Facebook which owns Instagram, denied that it was purposely spying on Instagram users without their consent and blamed a "glitch" that "has been fixed."
But just the suggestion that Instagram could watch users when they weren't on their phones (and the fact that it's easy to believe that they would do it), could be toxic for the app's brand. We've accepted a lot of dystopian technocracy in the last decade, but watching us in our sleep is still a big do not want for the majority of users. The outcome of this lawsuit could determine if younger users grow more disenchanted with all things Facebook, including Instagram.

COVID TESTING
It is important to update the school if your child or any person living in the same household as your child is being tested for COVID-19. Please also let us know the results of the test once received as soon as possible.
This applies to all ECA students - in person, remote, or home athlete. Your participation and communication is vital as ECA strives to provide a healthy and safe school environment.
FACE MASKS
Please make sure face masks are being washed regularly. We ask, especially for our elementary students, that an extra face mask be sent and kept in book bags in the event of a lost or soiled mask. Thank you so much for your help and diligence!
