Welcome to the Week of January 24, 2021
Dear Families,
As we march into the second week of the second semester, we also want to take time to reflect on the first semester. To do so, parent-teacher conferences will be held via Zoom this Friday, January 29, and next Friday, February 5. You will receive an email with signup instructions on Monday.
Below are announcements and important upcoming dates. In particular, please read the Community Investment message from Keo Strull, our Director of Academy Giving. We look forward to a wonderful week. As always, please reach out to me with your questions.

Yours in Partnership,
Michael Cowan

Community Investment
We ask you, our parents, to invest in the education of your child by contributing to the Community Investment Fund. Your participation is your way of giving back to the school and thanking our dedicated teachers for the passionate work they do. Our goal is for every family to participate in this very important program. No gift is too small - every gift is the gift of a hero! Your gifts make a real, visible impact to the day-to-day lives of your children and their teachers. Our community's past contributions have helped pay for:

  • Tinting for our first-floor windows to save money on electric bills and provide additional safety;

  • Additional health safety, acrylic dividers on every desk, hand sanitizing stations placed all over the school, contactless thermometers purchased for regular checks, A/C system upgrade to medical grade air filters, masks and hand sanitizer for every classroom, 3 full-time cleaning staff;

  • Playground equipment upgrades, including a sport court, courtyard turf, new playground funded and to be installed soon, basketball hoops, and other sports equipment;

  • New water fountains installed with built-in water bottle dispensers; and

  • The many custom-made reproductions of the most beautiful paintings in history that now decorate our corridors.

Now is the time to be part of Community Investment! A contribution to Community Investment is easy. To enroll from our website go to greatheartsirving.org, click the “Give” button at the top of the page, then follow the “Be a Giving Hero” link to schedule your monthly gift or make a one-time gift.
