Rally Day Success!

Last Sunday's kickoff to a new Sunday School year was a joyous event! In addition to meeting teachers, learning about opportunities to serve in our church, and enjoying a delicious breakfast, we celebrated the "inaugural" use of our newly-renovated Baird Hall. Many thanks to all those who helped make the day possible, especially those who provided the meal.

Let's Celebrate Carolyn Tamblyn's 100th Birthday

Long-time member Carolyn Tamblyn, wife of our late Director of Music Emeritus Dr. J. William Tamblyn, will turn 100 on August 21. Please consider sending her a card or note, address in our directory, and let her know she is being celebrated!

New Sunday School Offerings for Fall 2026

Finding God in Today's World

Sundays, Room 312

Finding God in Today's World is a new Sunday School offering for adults. Rooted in the former Modern Families Sunday School series, Finding God in Today's World is a weekly faith conversation for adults to explore connections to God through the lens of history, life experiences, and the every day. We will meet from 9:50-10:25 am in Room 312. Come join us! Learn more on Rally Day, or email Clay Price (cdprecifeb06@gmail.com) for more information.

Presbyterianism 101/New Member Class

Join us for this four week series to learn the basics of Presbyterian worship, theology, governance, and history. Whether you are brand new to the Presbyterian tradition or a lifelong member, this class will offer insights on the "hows" and "whys" of the PC(USA). The class is led by pastors Nick and Kathy Reed. Contact either (nreed@fpcauburn.org or kreed@fpcauburn.org) for more information.

PCM Assists 98 Families During Second Quarter

The Presbyterian Community Ministry (PCM) provided financial and home repair and renovation assistance to 98 Lee County families during the second quarter of this year.

Total income for the quarter was $86,621; expenses were $43,321. Income included $33,698 from donations, $31,655 from federal Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) reimbursements, $13,640 from our church’s mission budget, and $4,249 from loan paybacks. Expenses included about $5,000 for home renovations and about $20,000 for home utilities.

Charlene was among those whom PCM helped. A retired medical receptionist and the mother of triplets, she was a regular PCM client during the 1990s. Her sons now attend Southern Union but lost their food stamps in January. The cost of food for her family has affected Charlene’s budgeting. She remembered PCM and asked for help with her water bill.

Retired after sixteen years at Briggs and Stratton, Henry lives very modestly in his Loachapoka home. However, his budget billing for Alabama Power is $615 a month due to poor insulation. A grandson who once shared the bills has moved away, and Henry’s Social Security check does not always cover expenses. PCM paid half of his power so that Henry could make ends meet in May.

Julianna, a young housekeeper at EAMC who loves her job, came to PCM after satisfying a larger bill left her unable to pay the gas bill. She had lost hot water, heat, and use of her gas stove until PCM settled her bill to restore services.

Office manager Elizabeth White would welcome help answering the phone, writing thank-you notes, filing, and stuffing envelopes for quarterly reports. If you would like to help, please email the office at info@pcm-al.org.

Donations of any amount from our church members are always welcome. Those who wish to make a gift to PCM should send their checks to PCM, 143 East Thach Avenue, Auburn, AL 36830. Those wishing to become individual annual members ($250) or family members ($300) should send their checks to the same address. Also, all donations can be made by visiting the new PCM website at pcm-al.org.

Lay Readers Needed

As the new semester approaches we are in need of readers to help lead worship at the 11am service. You do not need to have prior experience, all ages are welcome, and you will be provided with details instructions during the week prior to your Sunday.

Sign up here!

If you have questions about this opportunity to serve, please reach out to Nick or Kathy Reed (nreed@fpcauburn.org, kreed@fpcauburn.org).

Help feed our UKirk students!

We’re looking for individuals, families, Sunday school classes, and groups of friends to provide Sunday dinner for 15–20 students. Meals can be simple—students love everything! Sign up to provide a main dish, vegetable or salad, and dessert, either on your own or with a group. Your hospitality helps create a welcoming place where students can gather, connect, and feel at home.

Yes! I want to provide a meal!

Thank You!

Thanks again to all those who helped make my 100th birthday in June a memorable occasion! God loves you and so do I.
