During its in-person and Zoom online stated meeting on December 15, the Session…
• sustained the elder examinations for Kimberly Farr, Pete Forster, Quincy Hochard, Steven Kranz, Brooke Myers, Amy Pope, and Matthew Wolak; and
• learned that the church’s income for November was $46,580; expenses, $57,593; and net income, minus $11,013; for year-to-date (January through November), income was $735,257; expenses, $740,247; and net income, minus $4,990;

• elected Susan Bannon to serve as the Clerk of Session for 2025;
• approved transfer of membership for Mike and Lindy Mastin to First Presbyterian Church, Albertville, Alabama;
• learned that the church’s income for December was $87,111; expenses, $61,027; and net income, $26,084; for year-to-date (January through December), income was $822,368; expenses, $801,274; and net income, $21,094;
• learned that the Task Force is investigating the National Fund for Sacred Spaces as a source of help with a capital campaign;
• learned that pledges will support 94% of the budget goal for 2025;
• learned committee assignments for 2025: Adult Education, David Burkhart; Children and Youth, Shane Klugh and Steven Kranz; Congregational Life, Julie Price and Amy Pope; Finance, Karen Herring and Matthew Wolak; Generosity, Susan Stanley and Jeff Yost; Legacy, Adele Whatley, Shane Klugh, and Jeff Yost; Mission, Todd White and Kimberly Farr; Personnel, Pete Forster and Holly Mitchell; Property, Graves Lovell and Daniel Parsons; Worship, Quincy Hochard and Brooke Myers; and University Ministry, Sarah Hill and Adele Whatley;
• learned that three committees will be responsible for planning events for our church’s 175th anniversary celebration on June 16, 2025: Worship, Congregational Life, and Mission;
• learned that paper copies of the church’s directory will be distributed at the congregational dinner on February 19;
• elected three treasurers for 2025: Mary Simon, Leslie Carter, and Carolyn Williams;
• approved using $17,500 (plus $1750 if needed) of Capital Replacement Funds to replace the failed HVAC system on the second floor of the Education Building; and
• approved participation in the “We’ve Come This Far by Faith: Historic Sacred Spaces in Auburn” Project.

At a called meeting on December 18, the Session authorized several members to sign any and all loan documents related to the Presbyterian Investment and Loan Program (PILP) for the loan approved by the congregation on November 17, 2024: Trustee and Elder Robert Barnes (“Secretary of the Corporation” for PILP purposes only); Trustee and Elder Don Ball; Elder Leslie Carter, Treasurer; Elder Daniel Parsons, Property Committee; and Elder Thomas Pope, Finance Committee.
It also reaffirmed this resolution: Be it resolved that the Corporation (First Presbyterian Church of Auburn, Alabama) hereby adopts the Book of Order of the Presbyterian Church (USA) as its Corporate Bylaws.

At a called meeting on January 29, the Session approved Brooke Myers and Adele Whatley to serve as commissioners to the presbytery meeting in Wetumpka on February 20 and approved the 2024 Church Statistical Report.
According to that report, we have 517 members (283 women, 234 men) and 46 youth (4 under age 4; 16 in elementary school; 12 in middle school; and 14 in high school. Average weekly attendance (estimated) is 180. Last year, our budgeted income was $835,281.

At a called meeting on February 9, the Session accepted Tom Cleveland as a new member, a transfer from Auburn United Methodist Church.
