Thru Jan 6 | 10:00 am - 6 pm | Denver Art Museum | Gen. Adm.
The Denver Art Museum is the sole venue for Rembrandt: Painter as Printmaker, showcasing about 100 prints from Rembrandt van Rijn’s career spanning from 1625 to 1665.
Unforgettable images of biblical, portrait, allegory, still life, landscape, and genre artworks of the time demonstrate the mastery that cemented Rembrandt as one of the greatest artists in history. The exhibition shows how Rembrandt used his view of the world around him to fuel his artistic journey, and gives a deeper understanding of his working habits as an artist, and moreover, as a printmaker.
Rembrandt: Painter as Printmaker takes a close look at Rembrandt’s innovative approach to printmaking that combined the three principle methods of intaglio, including etching, drypoint and engraving. New scholarship about the artist is presented, revealing how Rembrandt intentionally varied the states of his prints, ink, and exotic papers to create rarities that he knew his clients desired, demonstrating how he deliberately manipulated his prints for marketing and storytelling purposes.

Thru Jan 13 | 10:00 am - 6 pm | Wings Over The Rockies Air & Space Museum | Gen. Adm.

Design—and test-fly—your own supersonic jet. Pilot a drone into the eye of a hurricane to measure nature's fury. Spread your wings and experience flight as a bird or a futuristic wing-flapping aircraft. Or take an elevator ride to the edge of space.

Thru Jan 13 | 10:00 am - 6 pm | Clyfford Still Museum | Gen. Adm.
Curated by the younger of Clyfford Still’s two daughters, Sandra Still Campbell, A Daughter’s Eye/A Daughter’s Voice presents a highly personal and original vision of Still’s art and ideas. Two-thirds of the featured works have never been exhibited, and many have been unrolled and stretched for the first time since Still painted them. Campbell’s reflections about her father, his art, and their life together accompany the paintings, and are presented both in wall texts and a podcast. Her audio commentary unfolds in four chapters, one for each of the exhibition’s galleries.
Born in 1942, Campbell became increasingly active in Still’s career beginning in the early 1960s, when the Still family began their inventory process and documentation of Still’s life’s work. Campbell lived in the Still household on and off between 1962 and 1971. Such deep immersion in Still’s ideas and practices allows Campbell to make uncanny connections between seemingly unrelated works, such as a 1949 canvas created in San Francisco, PH-385, and a 1973 painting created in Maryland, PH-1034.

Thru Jan 20 | 9 am - 5 pm| Denver Museum of Nature & Science | Gen. Adm.

Eyes On: Julie Buffalohead will showcase new work by the Minnesota-based artist, who is a citizen of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma. Buffalohead uses metaphors, iconography, and storytelling narratives in her artwork to describe emotional and subversive American Indian cultural experiences, and often analyzes the commercialization of American Indian cultures.
Buffalohead frequently includes animals as subjects, and her eclectic palette and whimsical subjects evoke a childlike innocence. While she works in a variety of mediums, including painting, printmaking, drawing, illustration, bookmaking, and sculpture, this exhibition will feature a new series of works on canvas that explore her own life experiences, as well as ancestral knowledge.

Thru May 19 | 10:00 am - 6 pm | Denver Art Museum | Gen. Adm.
See how animals have captivated artists throughout history in Stampede: Animals in Art. This cross-departmental exhibition brings together more than 300 objects from the Denver Art Museum’s collection to explore the presence of animals in art throughout centuries and across cultures.
Stampede creates an opportunity for visitors to discover and consider the role animals play through themes such as personal connections with animals, how animal materials have been used in art, how animals are used to tell stories or represent political ideas, and how artists use animals in imaginative ways. It includes visitor favorites such as a four-faced Hamat's Mask, Deborah Butterfield’s horse sculptures, artworks by Frederic Remington and Georgia O’Keeffe, as well as rarely seen works.

Working the road nonstop since his 21st birthday, Dave Landau has grown into a true comedic juggernaut. Finding himself much in-demand among audiences and club owners due to his deadpan demeanor and those jokes — my God, those jokes — that fluidly fly forth with breakneck pacing and perfect timing. Dave, it can be said with all due respect, is a throwback to another era of comedy. The entertaining everyman. Innocent enough at first blush; as he states his case, you begin to see where you and he have quite a bit in common. A wife, a house. An odd sense of calm in an increasingly crazy world. You’re on a tour of the familiar and prosaic, with Dave Landau as the bus driver.
Then he drops his foot on the accelerator. And things start to get wild. You see, Dave Landau might appear to be just like you, but he’s not really. His mind goes to places that angels would fear to tread, and he has no problem telling you about it. The mark of a great comedian, it is said, is the ability to find jokes where others would find tears. Dave find jokes everywhere; with his own foibles and faults, to his family, to pop culture and the state of the world today.

HIP HOP!!! FREESTYLE!!! MADNE$$!!!
Y’all know what it is!!! Rapscallions has been doing its thing at Voodoo for a little over a year now, and I am very proud of how much the team has grown in that relatively short amount of time. What started as a niche/specialty show with around six members has grown into a weekly staple at Voodoo with its own dedicated fanbase and over 20 members on roster (if you include past performers who have since moved but could always come back as guests). We were accepted into the New York Musical Improv Festival last year, and we are currently getting ready to submit to several other festivals over the summer and fall (crossing our fingers for festivals in LA and New Orleans). Members of the team (including myself) have been recognized for doing the show outside of Voodoo, which can only be good news for the Playhouse itself. None of this would have been possible without the incredible amount of support we’ve received from Voodoo and its staff, and I sincerely thank you forever for letting this show exist. Rapscallions has been able to reach so many people, creating an outlet for veterans to shine and an accepting environment for newcomers to discover both comedy and hip-hop. This show has a strong foundation beneath it, and now is the time to build and expand upon it. We have been steadily increasing our social media presence, and we are always on the lookout for random opportunities to perform both in and out of state. Voodoo is our home, and we want that brand, along with the Rapscallions name, to start getting major recognition around Denver and beyond. Considering what we were able to do in year one, I have no doubt that if this show is allowed to go on with continued support from Voodoo that we can achieve that goal and more. Comedy, culture, music, energy, HIP HOP, FREESTYLE, MADNE$$!!! Thank you for your consideration.

Sal Vulcano is an American comedian, actor, and producer who rose to fame with the comedy TV show, ‘Impractical Jokers.’ He is also a member of the popular comedy troupe, ‘The Tenderloins,’ who are the creators, producers, writers and stars of the, ‘Impractical Jokers.’ In his own words, “We are not actors doing pranks, we’re legitimately four best friends who are doing what we’ve always done, but with cameras.” ‘The Tenderloins’ was formed by Vulcano and his childhood friends, Mike Boccio, James Murray and Joe Gatto in 1999. His first big break happened when he participated in, and ultimately went on to win the NBC comedy show, ‘It’s Your Show,’ hosted by Carson Daly. Chad Prather was entertaining audiences on television as early as two years old. The desire to be onstage started early. He began acting at the age of 6 and by the age of 20 he was traveling all over the world - from Africa to Southeast Asia, from Russia to Central America - using his communication skills to influence international leaders with humor and inspiration. Eventually Prather's communication skills opened doors for him to move into the corporate arena of motivational speaking and writing.
Prather is known for his way with words. He is a comedian, armchair philosopher, musician, and observational humorist. He is often referred to as "the modern day Will Rogers." He is a fast-talking combination of Lewis Grizzard and Jeff Foxworthy. Originally from Augusta, GA Chad now calls the Fort Worth, TX area home. He grew up working with horses (an industry he is actively involved in) and is often recognized by his ever-present cowboy hat. His social media viral video are counted in the hundreds of millions. Many recognize him from his fast talking, rapid fire rants from the front seat of his truck. CNN has labeled him the "Pick-up Pundit" and Fox News' Tucker Carlson has called Prather, "supernaturally articulate." He is known for his comedic family stories told from an adult perspective onstage.

First sharing a stage in the early 2010’s, the virtuosic trumpeter Brad Goode and legendary saxophonist Ernie Watts met and instantly realized their incredible musical rapport. Since that day, they have been touring together and exciting audiences with their high energy, tight-rope style improvisations. “That’s Right” is their first recording together, featuring a set of modern originals, along with arrangements of “Blues in the Night,” “I Want to Talk About You,” and “Jug Ain’t Gone,” from one of Goode’s early mentors, the late Chicago saxophonist Von Freeman.

Following his 2015 psychedelic masterpiece Hey Joe Opus/Red Meat, the new album from visionary roots music songwriter and bandleader Otis Taylor, Fantasizing About Being Black, is a stark and poetic lesson on the historical trauma of the African American experience, from the voyages of slave ships to the Mississippi Delta. Taylor simultaneously travels back in time while moving forward as a musical artist. Blending his unique songwriting and the compelling musical approach that he calls “trance blues,” the recording — on Taylor’s Trance Blues Festival label — inspires with stories of the enduring human spirit, letting its hypnotic sound as well as Taylor’s lyrics tell a story of continuing struggle.
