WEDI's new Patient Experience Workgroup will focus primarily on bringing the patient perspective and patient experience into health care business processes and workflow and including the patient viewpoint across WEDI workgroups and initiatives. Initial topics for the workgroup include: (i) level setting on current patient advocacy initiatives within health IT data standards; (ii) providing insight into patient use of health technology; and (iii) educating patients on using health APIs and how best to ensure the confidentiality of their health information. Join co-chairs Anna Hyde (Arthritis Foundation) and Emma Andelson (American Medical Association) on the Second Monday of each month at 1pm ET beginning September 8th!

Monday 9/8, 1PM ET: Join us for the first Patient Experience Workgroup meeting. Co-Chairs Anna Hyde (Arthritis Foundation) and Emma Andelson (AMA) will begin the meeting with an introduction on the purpose and goals of the workgroup, as well as an overview of existing efforts related to patient input in health IT. We will end the meeting with a collaborative brainstorm on possible projects for the group. 

Tuesday 9/9, 12PM ET: Join us as we start back up the Acknowledgments SWG and discuss work products.

Tuesday 9/9, 1:30PM ET: We will be exploring federal regulatory changes and how they may impact the dental industry.

Wednesday 9/10, 2PM ET : Join the Privacy and Security Workgroup meeting Wednesday September 10th from 2-3 PM ET to get the latest updates, hear commentary and have a safe place to discuss activities from OCR Corrective Actions, CISA and NIST publications to other authorities.

• October 8^th: LevelBlue - Becoming a Cyber Resilient Organization
• November WEDI Conference: OCR Director Stannard - A Presentation on OCR Activities (and projections for 2026)
• November 12^th: Subject Matter Expert - Changes to HIPAA Part 2 for Substance Abuse Disorder/Consent Privacy requirements.

Thursday 9/11, 11AM ET: The Claims Subworkgroup will discuss current work products and solicit feedback from the group on future issues for the group to focus on.

Thursday 9/11, 1PM ET: Join us to review and discuss our Genomics 101 document.

Friday 9/12, 1PM ET: Join is to discuss how best to survey providers on their GFE experience to date.
