TODAY! Monday November 17th, 1:30-3:30PM ET

WEDI has been invited to participate at the Dec. 10 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) listening session on the new Prior Authorization FHIR API standard. Today’s members-only MPA event aims to gather industry feedback on a series of questions CMS has and explore the future of prior authorization processes. WEDI invites our members to share their perspectives on this important topic and assist WEDI in developing our formal response to CMS

From WEDI’s recently concluded National Conference in Washington, DC, co-chairs Emma Andelson from the American Medical Association and Anna Hyde from the Arthritis Foundation introduce WEDI’s newest workgroup, Patient Experience. The workgroup’s primary aim is to embed the patient perspective into health care business processes and workflows while elevating the patient voice across WEDI’s broader workgroups and initiatives.

As Artificial Intelligence increases opportunities and efficiencies in the dental industry, one particular use case is the utilization of computer vision in the insurance reimbursement life cycle. Many parties are evaluating the efficacy of the technology to improve patient care and clinical review, but the implementation of those technologies into current workflows at the payer or the provider has not shown the full return on investment yet. NDEDIC (National Dental EDI Council) has taken the opportunity to provide guidance in implementing solutions to increase the return on investment multiple parties are making in AI.
