This week's theme is "Innocent Darkness" - So much about photography is capturing the light. Sometimes though, darkness is more interesting. In this instance I am talking about showing detail through outlines; the silhouettes we find every day. These dark compositions teach us that details are crucial, but the broad shape of things set the course for so much of what we see.
This is an important weekend leading into a more historic week in America. These days may tempt the worst in some of us. A short supply of patience and empathy lead towards unneeded conflict of the internal and external nature. We all need to take a breath and recognize the outlines that shape our collective world.
