This week's theme is "Strangely Secure " – Landscape photography invokes a lot of different emotions. For me, capturing scenes that are imposing in their size or beauty stirs up a sense of humility and security. As much as being somewhere new with no idea what is around the next turn is a mix of frightening and exciting, natural barriers like a bending tree or towering formation give me a sense of comfort. It is also a healthy reminder for the ego. Standing with my ever fragile body among elements that have lasted for hundreds or thousands of years reminds me of humans’ place in this evolving saga.
