This week's theme is "Partial on Purpose" – Every artist lives in an infinite loop of making choices. Not only do we have to determine what to include in a photo, painting, song or performance, but also what not to include. In a photography composition, leading the viewer to wonder where the rest of the subject is or what it looks like can create an interesting frame. Showing half or a quarter of a focal point can not only simplify an image but definitely add a sense of drama. Using negative space or the illusion of symmetry is a theme I do find myself seeking out, especially in architecture or a more barren landscape.
