In my landscape portfolio people are rarely seen. A lot of brilliant image creators do include people to show scale, it is just an element I usually avoid. This shot in Oregon called for breaking that maxim. At the excellent Cannon Beach, this scene jumped out to me as I was walking away toward the next spot. I looked back for a moment and shot a few frames of these two individuals in the distance among the mist and rock formations. To be honest, when I shot it I didn't think much of it, especially during a nearly 3-week trip in the Pacific Northwest. It was only when I was in the editing process that this frame took shape and I realized I had something that really stood out amid the thousands of images from the trip.
