A hard working photographer, either a hobbyist or professional, usually finds themselves on the move chasing down a subject or more favorable shooting conditions. It is not often that the focus of our images are as still or integrated into their environment as statues usually seem to be. It is those factors, similar to photographing a still life in a studio, that present both a challenge and a great opportunity for an image creator. Capturing the essence of someone's art while also showing respect to the subject that was the inspiration behind a monument requires some responsibility to think carefully how to convey a message visually.
