Housing Application Opens Feb. 28th

Hello L&C Students!


My name is Dr. Benjamin Meoz, and I’m the Associate Vice President for Campus Life and Senior Associate Dean of Students at LC. In my role I support the work of Campus Living, Community Accountability & Conflict Education, and College Outdoors.


The 2025-26 housing application is about to open on Friday, February 28th, and to kick off the season of housing information Campus Living will be hosting a Living Learning Community Fair in Stamm at 4PM tomorrow, February 25th! There will be folx available to talk about all the different housing options and communities, along with some games and prizes. I invite you to come learn about the lineup of options for this next year, including: Quad & Triple FastPass, Suites@Copeland, and the nine Living Learning Communities.


More information and reminders will be in your inbox in the coming weeks, but you can already follow this link to the Campus Living website for additional important dates and processes (e.g., housing accommodation, LLC application dates). Please read those reminders which include previously shared important information on changes to room selection for this upcoming year.


Lastly, Campus Living will also host several information sessions and drop-ins in the Odell Annex throughout the application period to provide ongoing support.

60th Annual International Fair


L&C’s 60th Annual International Fair is a vibrant and enriching celebration that showcases the diverse cultural heritage of its student body. Events are scheduled from February 24th - March 1st.


On March 1st, collect stamps in your passport as you explore:

  • 🌍 Region Showcase (11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Stamm, Fowler Student Center) – Walk around Stamm and explore the culture of different regions.
  • 🍽 International Cuisine (1 p.m. – 2 p.m., The Trail Room, Fowler Student Center) – Taste flavors from around the world.
  • 💃 Cultural Performances & Fashion Show (2 p.m. – 4 p.m., Flanagan Chapel) – Experience aesthetics from different cultures.

10 Years of Impact: Celebrating L&C on March 5th!


Get ready for Day of Giving, a 24-hour event on March 5th, celebrating Lewis & Clark, and the collective impact of parents, alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends working together to support our community. 


How You Can Help: 

  • Find an area of need close to your heart on Day of Giving and make a gift of any size. Your gift counts if you contribute early, or are already a monthly/recurring donor!
  • Share a Lewis & Clark social media post on your favorite personal social media page, tagging #LCDayofGiving, and encouraging family and friends to give.
  • Wear orange and black on March 5th to show your L&C pride. Orange and black apparel is 20% off at the bookstore on Day of Giving!

College Outdoors to host No Man’s Land Film Festival


College Outdoors is proud to present No Man’s Land Film Festival (NMLFF) in February 2025, the first all-woman + genderqueer adventure film festival! NMLFF celebrates the full scope of athletes and adventurers by un-defining femininity in adventure, sport, conservation, and film. This event is a fundraiser to support our scholarship program, so we may continue to offer financially accessible programing to all students at Lewis & Clark!


  • Wednesday, February 26, 2025, 7 p.m., doors at 6 p.m.: Student Night - $10 for college and high school students.
  • Thursday, February 27, 2025. 7 p.m., doors at 6 p.m.: General Public - $25. Event to include snacks and NA drinks for purchase and EPIC raffle packages!

Feb. 24th, 5th Annual Edward J. Perkins Distinguished Speaker Series Address: 5:30 p.m., Albany Quadrangle, Smith Hall, Please join us for an evening with the Honorable Ambassador Harriet Isom, a pioneering Oregonian, who was among the first women to ruse to multiple U.S. Ambassadorships.


Feb. 25th, Lunch with a Leader: Nico Vergasa: 11:30 a.m., J.R. Howard 302, Interested in entrepreneurship and food? Four years ago, with a small igloo cooler in front of his friend’s coffee shop in NE Portland, Nico’s Ice Cream got its start. Since then, Nico quickly scaled to four shops and now a s’mores shop. He is also the founder of Palanca, a Latinx-led initiative focused on empowering youth and encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset.


Feb. 25th, Cosmos: A Community Dialogue for International Students: 3:00 p.m., Fowler Student Center, International Students, you are invited to participate in a Community Dialogue on your experiences studying abroad in the US. These student-run conversations are part of the presidential Community Dialogues initiative.


Feb. 25th, Center for Social Change Open House: 4:30 p.m., Fowler Student Center, Room 320, Escape the cold and dreary weather by joining us at our cozy Open House on the third floor of Fowler, right next to IME! Warm up with your favorite hot drinks (think hot cocoa, apple cider, and tea), delicious doughnuts, great music, and a fun mix of games. meet our team and learn how we can help you actively engage with the community, both inside and outside L&C, while enhancing your academic and professional journey.


Feb. 25th, Ethnic Studies and Gender Studies Teach-In NEW DATE!: 5:00 p.m., Smith Hall in Albany Quadrangle, In this Teach-In, we will discuss how we can use Ethnic Studies and Gender Studies to understand our contemporary moment, build community, develop resilience, and share joy, amidst widespread changes and far-reaching challenges.


Feb. 26th, Know Your Rights Workshop: 4:00 p.m., Watzek Library, Classroom 245, Join the Office of Inclusion & Multicultural Engagement (IME) in a workshop to address the recent updates centering on immigration law. Be in the community with others while we learn more about the recent executive orders and to understand the rights of all individuals regardless of immigration status. Our guest speakers include: Professor of Law, Juliet Stumpf and Assistant Professor from the Graduate School of Education, Amy Wang.


Feb. 26th, Sexty, Can I?: 5:00 p.m., Fowler Student Center, Room 110, Sexty, Can I? is an interactive workshop exploring the complexities of digital intimacy, consent, and online boundaries. Through engaging discussions, we’ll navigate the realities of sexting, debunk myths, and address tech-facilitated sexual violence. Learn practical tips for safer digital interactions, understand the evolving legal landscape, and discover resources for support. Join us in creating a culture of respect, empowerment, and informed digital citizenship!


Feb. 27th, Lunch with a Leader: Natalie Sept: 11:30 a.m., J.R. Howard 344, How do you go from an artist with a liberal arts education to becoming Chief of Staff for Portland City Council? Discover the themes of honoring manual labor that have run through Natalie’s work of strategic communications, storytelling in the Obama White House, government relations, starting a biodynamic vegetable farm, and grassroots initiatives such as ballot measure campaigns.


Feb. 27th, Celebration of Black Arts & Dinner: 6:30 p.m., Smith Hall, To conclude Black History Month, BSU and IME invite you to attend Celebration of Black Arts. This evening is to honor Black Artistry. Our program includes a student curated fashion show, L&C Cheer & Step team performance, Art displays and more. We hope you will join us!. Dinner will be catered by Yaads Style Jamaican Cuisine. Please RSVP by Feb. 22nd.


March 1st, 60th International Fair - Platinum Discovery: 10:30 a.m., L&C’s annual International Fair is a vibrant and enriching celebration that showcases the diverse cultural heritage of its student body. This day-long festival features a wide array of activities including cultural performances, international cuisine, educational booths, and interactive workshops.

Posse Service Day with Hillsboro School District


Interested in representing Lewis & Clark to our emerging community members? Sign up to volunteer with the Center for Social Change as we welcome a group of 7th & 8th Graders from the Hillsboro School District.


As a volunteer you can lead a tour and/or host community circle. This is a chance for Lewis & Clark students to connect with young people in our community and get them inspired to go to college! Time commitment is Feb 27th from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on campus, various locations. Learn more.

R Lab Photo Contest 2025


Learn how you can enter the R Lab photo contest to have your photos displayed and showcased in the first floor Watzek library walkway. The contest ends on March 1, 2025 and the new photos will be posted over spring break. Learn more.

Farms and Food Field Trip


The ENVX Symposium planning committee invites the L&C community to participate in a Willamette Valley agriculture field trip on March 2, 2025. Possible field trip stops include a farmworker union and advocacy organization, a large farming operation, and a small livestock operation. We will then provide lunch, and close with a structured trust building and engagement session between Lewis & Clark people and agricultural community members. 2025 Rogers Science Research Program


The John S. Rogers Science Research Program prepares outstanding students for careers in the sciences by supporting collaborative scientific research between students and faculty in biology, chemistry, mathematical sciences, geological science, physics and psychology. Applications are due March 3rd. Learn more.
