Ensuring Campus Safety through Hazardous Tree Removal


In collaboration with our campus arborist and city officials, we’re taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of our community this winter. Beginning on November 19, community members will notice the tree removal vendor, Rich’s Tree Service, working on campus. Learn more here.

Flu Vaccine Reminder - Available in the Student Health Center!


It's flu season, don't forget to get vaccinated! The Student Health Center offers flu vaccines for $30. We have ~30 vaccines left and they are going fast! Students can schedule online through the Health Portal. More info here.

Pre-Group Appointments Available Now: Healing from Unwanted Sexual Experiences Therapy Group - Coming Spring Semester


The Student Counseling Center is offering a weekly therapy group next semester (starting in February) for survivors of sexual trauma, “Healing from Unwanted Sexual Experiences.” Led by Melanie Langlois, LPC, a therapist from the Student Counseling Center, students will use discussion, information and activities to share experiences, increase self-awareness and self-compassion, expand coping skills, and build resilience. Nov. 19th, Indigenous Peoples’ Heritage Month - Revitalization Through Storytelling: 6:00 p.m., Akin Residence Hall Lounge, Join the Inclusion & Multicultural Engagement (IME) for a powerful evening of storytelling as we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Heritage Month, featuring voices from the Native community sharing experiences, culture, and resilience. Event will feature Dr. Jordan AG Douglas-Tavani.


Nov. 20th, Visiting Artist - Catherine Fairbanks: 7:30 p.m., Miller Hall, Room 105, Catherine Fairbanks will be speaking as part of the Department of Art’s 2024 Visiting Artist Lecture Series.


Nov. 22nd, Othnell Mangoma Moyo Performance: 7:30 p.m., Flanagan Chapel, Othnell Moyo also known as “Mangoma” (freely translating as “the one with the drums”) is a multi-talented, internationally touring artist, teacher, ethnomusicological researcher, and preservation activist, deeply rooted in Zimbabwean Culture, who makes 75% of the instruments he plays himself. Free to L&C students with ID. 


Nov. 24th, Wind Symphony & Friends: 3:00 p.m., Evans Hall, The Lewis & Clark Wind Symphony and Percussion Ensemble present an afternoon of exciting music. Brett EE Paschal, conductor. Free for L&C students with ID.

HEDS Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey


OEI invites the entire L&C community to participate in the upcoming HEDS Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey. Your responses will provide the framework needed to see where we can continue to support and improve in DEIJ work on campus.


After completing this ~15 minute survey, we are also excited to have survey participants be entered into a prize drawing, including Blazers tickets, Hopscotch tickets, Punch bowl social gift cards, and Powell's gift cards. Learn more here.

Mt. Hood Snowshoe Day Trip


Snowshoe on the snow covered trails around Oregon’s tallest volcano! Weather permitting, we’ll head up to one of the many amazing snow-covered trails on the east side of Mt. Hood, where we’ll snowshoe through snow-capped trees to get a magnificent view of the mountain. No experience required! Learn more here.

2024 International Photo Contest


In celebration of International Education Week (November 18-22, 2024), we are holding our 8th annual International Photo Contest! Students who went abroad on FA23, SP24 or FY23-24 programs are eligible to enter! Each student can submit one photo per category (three categories). One winner per category will win a $50 gift card.

Restart Kit-Making Service Project


As part of the 21st Annual Ray Warren Symposium on Race and Ethnic Studies, the Center for Social Change is hosting a post-symposium service opportunity on Saturday, November 23rd in STAMM from 10-2pm.


Come create a bathroom and cleaning Restart kit for Immigrant and refugee families in Oregon from donations collected right here on campus! Come show up and lend a hand! Learn more here.

Winterim 2025


Applications are now open for limited spots in the Bates Center’s flagship program Winterim which features 60 speakers, mentors and judges for 30 students in a fast-paced week that culminates in a pitch competition with $8,000 of cash prizes. Learn more here.
