Fostering an Engaging Campus Community

Guest Columnist: Evette Castillo Clark

Hello L&C Students,

Spring Break is around the corner! In addition to thinking about your personal time off, it is typical this time of the year for students and student organizations to also consider their time left in the spring term - programs, meetings, and event planning.

This message serves as a reminder that we continue to foster a vibrant and engaging campus community. I want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of respecting each other, our shared spaces and facilities when hosting meetings, events, and programs. Whether you are a student organization, a study group, gathering, or attending an event, please be mindful of the following:

  • Treat all venues, equipment, and resources with care.
  • Clean up after your events and restore spaces to their original condition.
  • Follow all guidelines and read signage for space usage and respect the staff who help maintain these spaces.
  • Follow event and meeting planning guidelines as well as posting policies, here.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to creating a positive and respectful environment for everyone. If you have any questions or need guidance on space usage, a great place to start is with the Office of Student Engagement.

Enjoy your spring break. Whether you will be at home or traveling, be safe and have fun! I hope you return well-rested and restored, ready to finish the spring term successfully.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow, Tuesday, March 18, in the Trail Room for my last Campus Office Hour – the first 50 students will receive a free coffee or tea.

Sincerely,

Evette Castillo Clark, Ed.D.

Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students
