Welcome Back and Happy New Year!

Guest Columnist: Dr. Evette Castillo Clark

Welcome Back and Happy New Year, L&C students!

For 2025, expect some exciting things in store across the next few months, culminating in commencement for our graduating class! Our wish for you in the new year is to be well, healthy, encouraged, and engaged. As you begin a new semester, here are two reminders:

  • Remember to find your support resources here, and don’t hesitate to reach out or ask a question as the semester moves along.
  • The Bark newsletter is specific weekly news, opportunities, and happenings across Student Life and the Campus for you to participate and be in the know. The Scoop section of The Bark are things we want you to especially read for the week–check out the Mascot Nomination Information that will start January 27!

I always start the new year off with a “word watch,” that is, a word or short phrase that can set a tone for or inspire your new year. Here are some for you– Lead. Transform. Thrive. Belong. Give gratitude. Have fun!

All My Best,

Evette Castillo Clark, Ed.D.

Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students
